im so angry at the idea of dragging will's sexuality storyline out like this, having him fixated on mike for the entirety of it, putting him through the humiliation ritual of using his feelings and his painting to fix and bolster mike's straight relationship, continuing to drag out his feelings, having mike say shit to him like it's not my fault you dont like girls, give him hope, put him through the humiliation ritual of that fuckass coming scene, only to then button everything with one small scene of mike saying theyre best friends without ever actually properly addressing will's feelings THAT WERE DRAGGED OUT FOR THREE SEASONS FOR NO REASON and then showing will with a boy for 2 seconds THAT HE DOESN'T EVEN KISS? After directly commenting on the fact hes never kissed anyone??? They didnt even do a stupid callback to robin's advice and show them bump elbows or have a proper shared look like what the actual fuck was the POINT of HALF of will's sexuality scenes?? they did NOT need to write it like this and they wouldve been BETTER OFF for it if they HADNT.

so what? what is the point of this story??

im actually so tired of unrequited love, self acceptance, coming out scenes, and chaste epilogue partners being part and parcel of a gay character in a mainstream show's arc. especially when it's not a feature of most of the other straight characters' romance arcs. it actually shouldnt be too much to ask that you treat your gay characters the same way you treat your straight ones.

and the gay bar stereotype was such ass lmfao. please come up with something better. why are gay people always reserved for lonely nightlife endings instead of real happy endings?
