Last Night in Tokyo
Her wandering feet had taken her to the seedier side of town, the Kabukicho district. "It's haunted, we're not going there," her boyfriend had already told her. He was whip-smart, but boring as fuck and fortunately, still on a conference call back at the hotel.
"Pick any restaurant, order a Saki Ambrosia and sit by the window" was all her best friend had told her before the trip.
She looked around. Above the closest bar, a dark and moody night-spot no different than any other, the sign read: ドリームカフェ
She held up her phone until it auto-translated: "The Dream Cafe"
As she entered, an older woman with wise wrinkled eyes smiled and led her to a stool by the window seats. No words were spoken.
In no time a delicate sushi plate arrived along with a shot glass. "This place is magical," she thought to herself.
"Wait, is that my first??", she asked, looking at the shot glass, suddenly confused. The waiter only smiled. Inside the liquid the Ambrosia crystals began to swirl. Mmm, maybe "just a taste" she thought, as she dipped the end of a chopstick.
Outside a mysterious figure walked along the opposite side of the street. He wore period clothing and moved as if no one else existed. She stared at him, lost in thought, savoring the oddly perfect flavor from the drink, wondering what it'd be like to live in an older age filled with magic and sorcery.
The figure stopped, as if suddenly realizing something. Then, he began to cross the street, in her direction.
She stopped blinking and watched him with desire. He approached, dark and commanding, stopping just outside the glass to cast aside his cloak. His piercing yellow eyes stared straight into her soul.
"Come with me" she heard inside her head. "I want you."
Beneath the counter, her legs slowly spread apart.
