FlameXLomedy drabble (not a ship)
Rarely, Flame convinces himself that he enjoys fighting. He does. He likes the heat of the battle, the loud panic in people's voices. Until his blade enters their body and the blood gushes out coating his netherite sword.
He really does enjoy fighting. He really does.
But sometimes, he was very thankful that he has a blindfold. He heard people angry at him, that wouldn't bother him at all usually. Heck, he would even mock them for being weak. But today, he was... afraid.
He knew what the look of their faces would be if he could see them. Angry. Mad. Teary. The disappointment in themselves that they couldn't do anything as their friends were getting slaughtered. He had seen it millions of times. So why was it now that he was glad he
Why was his hands shaking then? He liked fighting, he liked the warm liquid on him. He liked the fact that he had such power over such important thing. Being ALIVE
Maybe it was because he doesn't want to feel that way. Like a denial. That he will never feel that way. Of watching their close ones die and choke on their deaths until you can't control yourself. When emotions take over your body and no rational thinking is done.
Because maybe he will feel that one day. He was always a solo player, doing his own things his own way, no one to worry about himself. But now he had someone.
He had someone he cared about. Someone he had to protect.
Fighting wasn't as fun anymore when you have something to lose. Being rivals with Wemmbu was desperate, but not... to this level. It was his ego, his reputation, his dignity. Not someone else's life.
Flame promised himself, that he would never feel that way. That he would protect him.
It wasn't even for Lomedy.
It was for him to avoid this feeling. To be like the many he had slaughtered before like a mad man. He was still selfish.
Flame couldn't help but to let out a chuckle as he finally killed off the last remaining of Parrot's army. Look, he had the power to keep that promise.
So why was he so nervous anyways?
He was never going to let Lomedy die.
