List of common syscourse myths used by both sides so you can all shut the hell up.
This is inspired by me seeing one too many posts of some people on this site complaining about beliefs that most of the people who disagree with you DO NOT HOLD. this is only like a few out of a million
( CDD systems of any stance may interact with this post. Opinions from non-cdd systems will be ignored or deleted, as i dont care )
Pro endo’s favorite myths:
“Anti endos think they own the word system,” — Not… really? What’s actually being said here is that the term system has been used to describe people with cdds in this context, and if it’s that big of a deal to you just use plural.
“Endos were the ones who made the system community,” — This is true, but it leaves out important context of the ableism they built it off of.
“Anti endos are just jealous that other people experience plurality without being miserable all the time,” OR “Anti endos think plurality is inherently miserable,” — Boring, repetitive, equates disorder with misery. If you hear “Systemhood is equivalent to CDDs, which are disorders,” and get out of that “This person thinks systems have to be miserable,”, thats on YOU. (Although I wont lie there is a sense of trauma olympics in the anti endo community but hell thats in SO SO MANY mental health spaces)
Anti Endo’s favorite myths:
“Endos claim to have cdds / Endogenic plurality = Having a cdd without trauma,” — MOST endos do not claim this. They claim to have alters without trauma. I understand it’s a pretty wishy-washy difference especially when they claim to experience alters without the reaction that causes them, but it’s a difference nontheless.
“Endos have no trauma” — Some endos have experienced trauma. They just claim that it is the thing that did not cause their system.
Both sides favorite myths:
“Well, I’m diagnosed and I think [X], so,” — Your diagnosis does not give you a higher ground or standing on this debate.
“The other side is wrong because they were mean to me, my side is right because they were nice to me.” — im tired of this type of sentiment please stop oh my god you are so milquetoast it should be illegal.
