   “like i said, love can be quite awful as well. it’s fucked up, really. but i think i’m the wrong person to talk about love,” he replied softly, worried he might make the other upset. “to you?? well, i hope not. it can happen to anyone, but if you want to keep me around, i’ll try my best to be your gurdian angel. no one should hurt you.”

   “every good thing in this world also has a bad side,” chris pointed out, unsure if he should ruin the other’s illusion. he decided to keep it simple. “there are some bad people out there and sometimes they do bad things to people they love. love is never just love. it’s dirty and messy and beautiful all at the same time.”

   “i’m definitely up for a challenge, he smiled, lollipop or not, this was apparently a special place for the boy, chris didn’t want to ruin it. “i don’t know. maybe?? love isn’t easy, that’s what i can tell you for sure. it can be bad, too.”

   “i like your tree house, it’s very lovely— oh and um a lollipop please,” he smiled, still looking around. he laughed lightly at the boy’s question and nodded a couple of times. “yeah, with a couple of people actually. but i never took it too serious.”

        “but that just becomes messy and mess is no fun.”

      he’s got a teeny smirk on his face, yet eyebrows furrowing shortly afterwards & his lower lip being taken in between his teeth. “ i do more than just drink blood, “ kol replies, his eyes narrowing before he’s pushing ethan up against the nearest wall with a tremendous amount of strength & speed. “ i’m an actual vampire. “ he finalises before he’s got his signature smirk right back onto his features.

“oh that’s not a problem – wait are you a cook or something? kind of glad we have someone like that so i don’t burn this place to the ground.” 

      “ maybe today yeah, you’ll hear much stranger things tomorrow, ethan! mark my words! besides, it might be a good time for me to fess up, we have been friends for quite some time now & i don’t want you to be in the dark so, yeah. “

   “that’s a good deal,” the male laughed, as he finally reached the top of the tree as well. it was slightly weird to be in one of these after all this time, but he liked it “to be honest, i did, yeah. i know later on people just used them to fu- to meet up with people they had a crush on.”
