Glancing at the fabric that was temporarily stained, Harry shrugged. There was definitely a part of him that cared, at least a bit, that he was going to have to push his morning agenda back again to accommodate for the collision. But, the repercussions for being rude to the other would be far more of a risk than reward, especially since just hours prior, RJ had caught him stupidly lip-locked with his own assistant. Granted, she was more than just that, but no one else knew that⌠except them, and now, probably him, too. Still, being aware of the consequences seemed to override any impulsive response that could have crossed him. âSeriously. Donât worry about it,â he reassured, swirling the small amount of leftover coffee that was in the cup for a moment, then quickly chugging the liquid. Gaze returning to the boy, Harry studied his expression for a moment as he spoke. If anything, Harry should be the one asking to do anything to make up for their previous encounter, to keep the secret between the three of them, so to hear him asking instead caught him by surprise. âRuining my coffee fix makes up for it. I probably need to stop drinking that shit⌠get some actual rest.â Thatâs what everyone else seemed to keep preaching at him, anyway. âPlus, this gives me a chance to make sure I didnât leave anything important behind this morning. Win-win situation.â Rarely did he actually forget anything work-related at his own penthouse, but he didnât need to know that. Either way, he wasnât prepared to let him feel any sort of guilt for a shirt that could easily be washed or replaced, at worst.Â
The day just keeps getting more awkward â the two of them had met earlier when RJ walked in on Harry and Felicia kissing. He was a supportive friend, although it was just unexpected to stumble into. He doesnât really know anything about relationships or how they work â having been raised that he wasnât worth being loved so he never get it platonic or otherwise. Felicia was the first person who ever cared for him and showed him kindness so he was quite attached â seeing her like an older sister almost. It was an awkward way to meet Harry, and now heâs ruined his shirt. âYouâre sure?â It was still amazing almost that he can make mistakes and not be punished for it. âI hear caffeine can be addictive.â RJ smiles slightly, trying to relax his shoulders. âWell thatâs good. Iâm glad it works out? I usually make better first impressions â I swear.â
