I’m.. speechless. Being a shawol for almost 6 years, I’ve loved Shinee and Jonghyun so much. Jonghyun and his love for music, is absolutely undeniable. He is one of the most outspoken, warm hearted people ever and now he’s gone,,, and im just really shaking. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and acquaintances. He was a beautiful man and if he’s peaceful where he is now, there’s nothing more to say to it. . Idols aren’t superhumans guys. They have emotions too, they have a heart too. Mental health is very important, and losing such a gem of a man like Jonghyun should be a slap on our faces. Promote mental well-being, please. _ Today, all the fandoms, whether Shinee js your ult, fav or not, please stop fanwards and come together and help us Shawols get through this, because we really need the support. I just found out about Jonghyun's death from my sister who is in the anime fandom. I am a New Yorker who barely listens to kpop anymore but I just want to say thank you to Jonghyun. Thank you for shinee who introduced me to kpop. When my friend in seventh grade showed me the music video to lucifer at a sleepover I honestly thought it was wack but somehow it still intrigued me. It was the first group that I struggled through remembering their names and different roles. Here I am, a 20 year old worlds apart yet I still feel the pain of this loss. This is being human. We may be separated by different social markers and constructs, but we can unite on these experiences. Thank you Jonghyun for being a light in the world. Thank you for all you’ve done and bringing so many smiles to people's faces around the globe. Thank you for reminding us to feel.

Today, I lost someone I deeply admired to depression and suicide. Wish there was something I could have done to let him know he was deeply loved. So heartbreaking to know that he was struggling and thought this was the only way out. You inspired me with your beautiful music, with your fight for LGTBQ+ in Korea and your opines about certain topics. Rest in peace, Kim Jong-Hyun. Really hope that, wherever you are, you don’t have to deal with the loneliness and sadness you felt. Love you so much.
