maureen did her NVCR internship because she just needed the college credits. she “died” twice while interning, but kept going back to NVCR because she needs the credits and actually doesn’t give a shit. maureen refused to investigate any further Intern Death Traps that cecil tried to send her to and called cecil out on his internship program mortality rate. so, instead of doing journalism, maureen ran the NVCR social media account and copy-edited cecil’s Jaws slash fanfics while complaining that it wasn’t in the job description. one day, maureen stopped coming in and started leading an army, or whatever, and got a girlfriend, a smitten michelle nguyen of dark owl records. maureen twice talked to cecil get the college credits, who did whatever he could to ignore her pleas, until she left in frustration. now she’s usually just seen with michelle at her records store. cecil still adores maureen. and so do i.
