just be kind
At this point if you hate Daenerys youâre clearly a misogynist Iâm sorry I donât make the rules
At this point, if you think that misogyny is disliking someone who burns to people to death (regardless of gender) you are clearly fucking deluded, sorry I donât make the rules
Here let me make it clearer for you:
Yes, Iâm totally a misogynist for hating a violent, entitled tyrant⌠even though I love Sansa and Arya and and Cersei (Cerseiâs character, not her actions)⌠totally misogynistâŚ
You can love Demanding Tangerine all you like. I happen to like her character and character arc, but I cannot stand her white saviour special snowflake bullshit. Bye.
Oh, and if you love Demanding Tangerine for all sheâs overcome but hate Sansa for the same, get out of my face.
Oh thank you for the lesson honey, but let me tell you something: 1. I love Sansa to death because she is pure, kind and generous. 2. I love Arya because she is so attached to her family that she is ready to fight with everyone in order to avenge what she has lost. 3. I donât mind Cercei because even if she has done a lot of arguable actions, sheâs always acted in these ways for the love of her children. 4. I love Daenerys because she has overcome so many horrible events in her life she has become one of the strongest character in the serie. Perhaps you all like to forget that she has been raped at the age of fourteen, that she has been abused not only by her brother but also by the many men she has met during her path. Her whole life she has been alone and mistreated and the ONLY thing she has ever wanted was to come home. Then she found her dragons, and oh my god, you all think that without them she would be useless, donât you? But she isnât. She raised them herself, she learnt how to use them in fights, she risked her own life many times just for her children. She built an army all by herself, because she is smart, and wise. She takes advise from the people she trusts or she decides what she thinks is the best for her people. She ended slavery, she took care of everyone who was at her side and in the end she chose to put aside her pride and to cooperate against the ww. Everything she has done had already be done by some male character, but you all like to point out that she is mad, that she is a freak, just because she is indeed a woman. No one has EVER complained about a male hero killing his ENEMIES. No one. And if you donât go to the bottom of her characterization and try to understand her interiority because itâs easier to just say that she sucks, than yes, you are a misogynist because you donât care about a woman that is not only incredibly powerful, but is also kind and really intelligent.
And by the way, if you think that calling her Demanding Tangerine makes you Edgy⢠then you are the deluded one, and I donât want to spend another second on your stupid rant.
One, I never called her a freak.
Two, Iâm glad you love Arya and Sansa and appreciate Cersei! They should be at least respected even if you donât like them. I agree.
Three, I am in no way nullifying her experiences. What she went through was truly terrible. I honestly feel bad for her.
She is not kind. She was kind, once. I think she wants to do the right thing. However, her violent impulses often get in the way of that. For example she burned a potentially innocent man alive in Mereen, did not give Mossador a trial, overpowered less than 10,000 men with 100,000 Dothraki but then also had to burn all the food (which is⌠the dumbest thing she could have done with winter coming).
She does not listen to her advisors. Tyrion begs her to show mercy to the Tarlys and she ignores him. Varys says he must find a way to make her listen. Jon counsels her against using her dragons. She ignores him, too.
She ended slavery and became Mhysa. She also did not think far enough to stabilise the economies of Slaverâs Bay. She is an ineffective ruler.
At the end of ADWD, she struggles between her identity as the Mhysa, kind, generous and liberating, and her identity as a Targaryen. In her fever dream, Jorah tells her:
âYou are the blood of the dragon. Dragons plant no trees. Remember that. Remember who you are, what you were made to be. Remember your words.â
Her response: ââFire and Blood,â Daenerys told the swaying grass.â
(From Daenerys X, A Dance With Dragons)
I donât know why you think itâs just because sheâs a woman. I hate Stannis for doing the same. I honestly hope she embraces what she is and stops pretending to be a good person- like you said, everyone has done shitty things on the show and in the books. She seems to be the only one who wonât admit it, though.
Listen, I appreciate the fact that you tried to explain this to me in a not rude why, but we both know that we wonât change our opinion. I said âat this pointâ, because of course she has done bad things like every character, but she also understands that the ww are the main threat, so she chose to reconsider her priorities unlike Euron or Cercei, so yes, if you still hate her then your hate has NOTHING to do with her actions anymore, but itâs something more radical that you are not willing to re-evaluate just because so. Now excuse me, but I wonât answer anymore to this post, because I made myself very clear and Iâm tired of your hate towards an inspiring woman.
Actually look to yourself, you canât call other people sexist for disliking a female character, by that logic literally everyone who hates cersei is sexist Iâm sure not many people like every female character in literature and television and film ever but, then they must be sexist if they donât like that character. I have no issue with you liking daenerys, like who you want, thatâs fine I love loads of blogs who think she is the best character thatâs great itâs good to have diversity and to have discussions about different characters. Iâm sorry but itâs simply unacceptable to call someone sexist for disliking one character (which for me disliking her has absolutely zero to do with her gender which I have already said many times) Pls look up the definition before you start accusing people of being something that you clearly donât understand.
Omg why are you so pressed? Did you read the post? I said âDaenerysâ not âa female characterâ. There is plenty of fictional women that are to be disliked, but if you consider Daenerys alone then she represents a strong woman who looks up for herself, so yes if you hate her (I said HATE her, not âdislike her arguable actionsâ because as I already said, she is not flawless) than you are indeed a misogynist. She is portrayed as a positive character as much as Arya and Sansa, so you can dislike her, or she may be not one of your favorite characters but again, if you HATE her, then youâre just hating on a woman who has not done anything wrong if you consider the whole word she is part of.
Butđsheđhasđdoneđthingsđwrongđ
Thatâs my issue, that she is portrayed as a positive character and people are too blind to see that she is not.
And most people who hate her have a good reason, if you actually spoke to them might understand their point of view instead of calling them misogynists.
Well I donât have the time for this, so go ahed creating a tag just to spread hate on a woman while Iâm keeping calling you misogynists. Bye.
look Iâve tried to be polite but you are fucking out of order
THE TAG ISNT THERE BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMAN IT IS BECAUSE SHE HAS DONE THINGS THAT ARE WRONG AND PEOPLE REFUSE TO SEE THAT SHE IS NOT A GOOD PERSON A GOOD HEART DOESNT MAKE SOMEONE A GOOD PERSON JESUS CHRIST GET THIS INTO YOUR HEAD YOU CANT CALL PEOPLE MISOGNISTS WITH NO GOOD REASON
Do you really think Iâm gonna change my mind because youâre saying so??
No, and I wouldnât want you to change your mind about liking the character, but I think you really need to re-evaluate yourself if you are just going round handing out the title of misogynist to everyone you see who disagrees with you.
Listen, I think that at THIS point of the serie, if you HATE DAENERYS then you are misogynist. That's my opinion. I'm not going to change that. I've NEVER said that whoever disagrees with me is a misogynist. I appreciate your concern towards me, but I assure you that if you just don't mind Dany then I've NOTHING against you. But as soon as you start hating on a woman for her actions, when if the same actions were made by a male they would be praised, then I start have a problem with it. Now if you want to have the last word then do it, I don't even care. I won't answer anymore because you're starting to annoy me. Thank you for the discussion, I hope you have a great day.

Companion books:
Tales from the Shadowhunters Academy: a lot of gay. Magnus and Alec are featured in most stories. They ADOPT A KID AND KISS IN BtEN. Matthew and James seem pretty gay tbh.
I said "Daenerys" not "a female character". There is plenty of fictional women that are to be disliked, but if you consider Daenerys alone then she represents a strong woman who looks up for herself, so yes if you hate her (I said HATE her, not "dislike her arguable actions" because as I already said, she is not flawless) than you are indeed a misogynist. She is portrayed as a positive character as much as Arya and Sansa, so you can dislike her, or she may be not one of your favorite characters but again, if you HATE her, then you're just hating on a woman who has not done anything wrong if you consider the whole word she is part of.
