been thinking about that dvc x pokémon au we occasionally talk about. I got some notes on a couple things.
The first thing is Pokémon enrichment. I like to think it's similar to different breeds of dogs having different enrichment needs, as an example:
Humanoid Pokémon would have hobbies similar to humans, and sometimes they help their owners with chores or engage in parallel play
Animalistic Pokémon typically depend on the types of animals they're based on, but a good amount of play and some toys are usually good enough for the average animal Pokémon
Anthro animal Pokémon are a mix of the two above, but typically lean towards the hobbies
Those are the only ones I'm 100% sure of, since the object Pokémon or say, the Porygon line give me a headache to think about.
Anyways shifting the focus from Pokémon enrichment to something dvc related in this au.
I think Tristan loves to engage in Pokémon battles. They hate conflict, but Pokémon battling is more like a game or sport, or something like that, and their Pokémon are having fun, so they're having fun too!
They would bond with Benji over their shared love of Pokémon battling, and Benji would help Tristan get better at them (Benji is a boy fail in so many ways, but he's like a Pokémon battling prodigy lol). Hell, they'd get so close they end up being able to understand each other's Pokémon too, so that's fun!
Would Pokémon showcases also exist in this universe?

I used to play Pokémon Showdown online and I was terrible at it lmao. I did ragebait my brother with a Cursola once though.
Now I’m imagining Benji talking about different Pokémon battle strategies & Tristan listening intently while taking notes 😭
