The thing about a good character flaw is that it has to be the same thing as their greatest strength just turned up too high. the person who loves deeply and therefore controls. the person who sees everything and therefore trusts nothing. the person who is so loyal they lose themselves. there are no clean villains and no clean heroes and once you understand that in fiction you can't unsee it in people. everyone is just their best quality at the wrong volume.

guys it’s too early to say anything but he already communicates well, replies thoroughly, so far has not missed the door into my inner world (every fucking person out there was doing that bruh), seems to know himself, is articulate, seems decently caring, says he likes to learn about what makes people tick but he pairs that with care not just “you’re a puzzle” and he’s already showing signs of wanting to understand me (he seems introspective and asks questions and answers genuinely) … ohfuckohshitnononoitstoosoontosayanything

I told my friend about the instrument guy I never let through the door (they gave open signals and seemed like they wanted to connect and go further but they were RESPECTFUL and didn’t push… the best men do not push…) and then I told her about my friendly neighbor I met once who rented for a short time then moved out, same details except he was a cutie patootie and rambled nervously to me for like 15 minutes lmao…

And she said “so this is a recurring theme” and I was like YES

So I actually processed and am still processing how sad I am that I didn’t grab their socials/handles and see what friendship or more could’ve been there

I kind of miss the impulsivity that certain spaces used to allow. oh you want a hair cut today? hairdresser in the corner can fit you in before her 2 o’clock. tattoo of a cobra… sure leg or arm? even concerts, back when you could go to the box office thirty mins before any show. not saying these things don’t exist at all, but everything feels booked five months in advance and 10x more expensive
