I told my friend about the instrument guy I never let through the door (they gave open signals and seemed like they wanted to connect and go further but they were RESPECTFUL and didn’t push… the best men do not push…) and then I told her about my friendly neighbor I met once who rented for a short time then moved out, same details except he was a cutie patootie and rambled nervously to me for like 15 minutes lmao…

And she said “so this is a recurring theme” and I was like YES

So I actually processed and am still processing how sad I am that I didn’t grab their socials/handles and see what friendship or more could’ve been there

We made a plan for what I will say next time and she looked at me and said she knows I’ll do it next time. She knows I can send signals back and take the wheel. 🥲🥲

As a society we need to address both extremes: the fatphobia and bigoted treatment that bigger people get AND the projections that perfectly healthy & skinny people have placed on them. It’s cruel that people get bullied and shamed for something like having more weight. It’s hard to be a fat kid. And we also need to address how fucking weird it is that people self-diagnose every skinny person as “anorexic” or “having an ED.” Some skinny people are genuinely unhealthy. AND some skinny people are just like that whilst eating enough or more than enough calories

#it’s just so strange to be a kid and then realize people value looks and weight so much. very very sad #I can’t say I got harmed in those departments but I imagine that it caused a lot of shame and insecurity and pain in others #*suffering is a better word for it #and about the second point #some people have genetics that make them slim no matter how much they eat. me and my sister for example #but like bruh this shit shouldn’t have to matter #Cw anorexia mention #m rants
