“Yeah, I took my ex—” Robert starts, but cuts himself off because Courtney's apparently not done talking. It doesn’t even look like she’s actually interested in hearing his answer. So he simply listens, nodding along while he absentmindedly tries to fill out the day's accident report. Really hard to do when someone’s talking your ear off nonstop. “I’ve never seen the Notebook...” he says it under his breath so as not to interrupt her tangent, not that he could anyway.
Robert shakes his head slightly. By the time she’s done, he drops his pen, giving up on that report. He waits for a couple moments, just in case she still had more to say.
Then her words register.
Robert’s brows furrow at her. “Did you just casually ask me on a date?”

Robert sighs. "Neither, actually, it's my stapler." He reaches into his pocket and takes out the object, waving it at her. In case she needed proof. "Sonar lost his stapler again. I was worried he'd accuse me of stealing it. Again. And come steal mine for revenge. Even though he knows I didn't do it the first time."
He really should just give up on expecting her to be normal. The day Visi doesn't make a sexually suggestive joke at his expense is the day he'll know something is seriously fucking wrong with her. Maybe it's a good thing if that day never comes, and it's definitely not because he's warming up to her sense of humor.
Also, he's lying. He's definitely happy to see her.
