Do... People not know the history behind Light's Hope? Do they not understand what this place was like before the Plague? Do people not know the history between this church and Stratholme?

Why is it so important that "the Cathedral in Stormwind" be the most holy place - WHEN PALADINS ORIGINATED IN LORDAERON at the start of the Second War?! No! This place has more significance than a cathedral in a city that was razed and rebuilt!

Pick up a history book why don't you?

((Seriously y'all showing you know zero history of Azeroth here... The Plaguelands was not ALWAYS the Plaguelands. It was once Lordaeron on the Quel'Thalassian Border. That "shittiest, decrepit, dilapidated old building" was a beacon of hope to those affected by the Plague, and is the only place STILL STANDING from that time.

Did you not notice that The Lich King's forces outnumbered the people at that little building 10-to-1 AND STILL LOST?

There is a major reason for that. Do some research before saying things like this.

It may be a game, but this is the same kind of person who would say "what were those twin towers in New York? Why would someone want to commemorate a pair of office buildings lol" or "this arena was never finished why is it so important?" in Rome, or asking why Pompeii was so important.
