BLACK, S.
there was no denying that sirius black liked a good party. hell, on a day where he was particularly tired of james shouting at him to ‘focus’ on the lacrosse field, he liked to think that the ONLY reason he played WAS for the parties. that night was no exception as he breezed his way through the crowd, searching for anyone to keep him occupied so sarah couldn’t wrangle him into a conversation about her cuticles again. now that she wasn’t dating his best friend, he didn’t have to PRETEND to listen. when he spotted lily across the room he brightened, nearly tripping over someone sprawled out on the floor in his haste to make it over to her. skidding to a halt in front of her, a wide grin stretched across his face as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders – voice probably three times louder than it really NEEDED to be. “well if isn’t my favorite redhead.” he commented, gesturing grandly as he spoke. “aside from cameron monaghon, of course. he’ll always hold a special place in my heart… not that you, lilypad, aren’t EQUALLY as special.” he paused, as if he was toying with the idea, shaking his head. “no, i’m sorry, that’s a blatant lie – cameron WOULD come out on top. in so many ways.”
lily had to admit she was instantly relieved to see sirius, a friendly face amongst all the strangers. even if she did have to take a step back, slightly frightened he would bang right into her. “i’m highly offended.” she yelled back, barely able to hear herself over the music. “sure, cameron is hot as hell and a fantastic actor but, C’MON, it’s ME.” she smirked as she spoke, sharing in the embrace by wrapping her arm around his waist. such an exchange might look romantic to others in the room, but it wasn’t uncommon. sirius was, after all, like a brother to lily. she didn’t hold back in showing her affection, for she did hold a lot of love for the man. “how much have you had?” she asked, craning her neck to glance at her friend. “because it’s james’s turn to look after your drunk ass, make sure he knows that.”
