I love the feeling when we lift up, Watching the world so small below. I love the dreaming when I think of; the safety in the clouds out my window. I wonder what keeps us so high up. Could there be a love beneath these wings? If we suddenly fall should I scream out? or keep very quiet and cling to my mouth as I’m crying, so frightened of dying, relax yes I’m trying but fear’s got a hold on me. Yes, this fear’s got a hold on me.

“How enduring, how we need durability. The sky before sunrise is soaked with light. Rosy colour tints buildings, bridges, and the Seine. I was here when she with whom I walk wasn’t born yet, and the cities on a distant plain stood intact, before they rose in the air with the dust of sepulchral brick, and the people who lived there didn’t know. There is another world, but it is in this one.

There is nothing vague about a geometrical shape. As a situation it is very definite - one knows what one is looking at. Most situations, however, are much more vague than this. Most of the time one has a vague awareness of the situation and nothing more. With a definite geometrical shape it is easy to think of alternative ways of dividing it up and alternative ways of putting the pieces together again. It is much more difficult to do this if there is a vague awareness of the situation. It is difficult to convert a vague awareness into a definite statement. Unless one can convert a vague awareness to a definite pattern, it is extremely difficult to generate alternative patterns, alternative ways of looking at the situation.
