Hi, I've been thinking about seeing NGE, but I have a doubt: Are there different NGE or is it just one remade many times? Either way, where should I began? I don't want to Google it because of spoilers and I want to experience it brand new. Thanks!

there’s an original series created in the 90s that spans 26 anime episodes and two movies. one movie, death and rebirth, is really just a recap and i don’t recommend it or think you need to see it to understand the plot. to be honest i didn’t watch it until long after i had been into nge. the other is end of evangelion which you need to watch 100%, as it’s the “true ending” and also it’s amazing and i love it
there’s also rebuild of evangelion, a series of movies started in 2007 (i think lol) that are a “”remake”” of the original series. the first one is pretty much the same as the beginning of the original series, but the second and third are much different and take the plot in a whole different direction. most people treat them as two different canons. also the movie series isn’t done yet, there’s a fourth one but who knows when that will come out honestly
so to answer your question, it’s technically one nge remade many times, but the remakes are a lot different from the original series. it’s a little of both (different nge and remakes)
SO. here’s the order i would recommend watching it in (links included)
the original series, episodes 1-26 (dub / sub)
the end of evangelion (dub / sub)
rebuild of evangelion 1.0: you are (not) alone (dub / sub)
rebuild of evangelion 2.0: you can (not) advance (dub / sub)
rebuild of evangelion 3.0: you can (not) redo (sub only)
then after all of this if you really want you can watch death and rebirth.
