New single out today, just in time for Bandcamp Friday. $4 takes it, with all proceeds benefitting the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Link in profile. The Hallelujah Sound (Evolution Now): My quarantine anthem, and as close as I can get to writing a protest song. It came from the ether just after lockdown and we finished it quickly and remotely. The lyrics were written while floating in a trashy above-ground pool with my son and watching helicopters circle downtown during the protests. Punch line: I hope we find a way out of this dark era, and into a lighter one. All Out Living (Itβs Lies): I wrote this one in spring β18, and we recorded most of it that summer at Idler. Itβs a lilting tune about how (over)consumption is sold to the public, and how we mostly fall for it, even though we know itβs a terrible idea that wonβt end well. Credits: Tyler Mallory @tyler77id (lead guitar) and Michael Linnen @dmlinnen (drums/ambiance) both doing some of their best work on these tracks. Lovely working with these gents, as always. Taylor Deupree @taylor12k at 12k Mastering with the finishing touches. If you get a chance, check out his wonderful ambient catalog and label 12k. βThe Hallelujah Sound / All Out Livingβ (CN003) is the third release from Club Natacio, a label focused on getting music thatβs out there, out there. #clubnatacio (at Austin, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEt6-OaFAoZ2olcyP1qrstIkeEcw2Hc2gk8XkI0/?igshid=9btt1bpypnkn
