âSure you do, Barbie. Youâre dyinâ to see what kinda shithole of a den I didnât want to present you with today,â he joked with a wide grin, raising his glass to her all Leo as Gatsby style. âI might take you eventually â can almost see it from here actually, if you squint real hard.â He pointed to some random spot on the horizon. Hell if he expected her to have any idea what street they were on, much less what cardinal direction they were facing. âYou lookinâ to get yourself a husband and settle down, huh? Somehow didnât think you were the marryinâ type â least not yet,â he said, trying to save his ass with that last addition⊠even the chicks who swore they never wanted to get married usually did, and they certainly took offense if you suggested they couldnât. âGuess I sold to a guy or two who canât possibly fill a whole walk-in-closet on their own, if youâre really on the market. Whole ânother matter if theyâre worth your time, though.â
He chuckled at the whole Mr. Reeves thing, almost gave him goosebumps in all kinds of places. âWell, I got the keys, ainât keeping us out,â he even dangled them in front of her for emphasis, âCould plant some shit and shut the whole place down if we wanted,â a kind of sheepish grin appeared on his face, â⊠hypothetically, you know. Not like Iâve ever done that in the past.â Fucking hell, this one was gonna get him in some trouble, more ways than one probably. âNah, thereâs more on the business side but highly doubt you want me to get into all the financinâ rambles,â he said, pushing one of those blonde locks back away from her face, âDonât wanna get punched in the nose again.â
âNah. More like if you show me yours Iâll have to show you mine and this Barbieâs world is a well-kept secret.â she tried to keep a straight face, but it was always so hard to do that around Roscoe. He was like a big clown who made her laugh constantly with dumb jokes or dumb shit he said. âOnly the lucky ones shall pass. Are you lucky, Ro-Ro?â It was impossible to not laugh at that, while slowly making her way toward his direction and wrapped both arms around him from behind. âOh, sure -- Iâm looking to settle down, yeah. Be pampered and not have to cook or clean after my husbandâs shit while he screws his secretary. Thatâs the dream life, yanno. I can be screwing the pool boy or the real estate guy and weâre all happy.â she exclaimed, giving him a gentle squeeze when she brought up the âreal estate guyâ. Her mom had been married to a douchebag, then left -- why would Kenna ever want to follow those steps? Not that anyone would actually want her for anything more than a few wild nights. âPretty sure Iâm too âtrashyâ for those guys so. Itâs okay, I donât think Iâd fit in their world anyway.âÂ
She let go of him and moved to look outside the large windows again. âI cannot believe you.â Laughing lightly, big green hues turned to glance at him. âYou.. didnât. You wouldnât! Oh, Mr. Reeves, youâre a mischievous one!â giggling lightly, the blonde shook her head. It was actually funny and she was up for it, as long as they didnât end up behind bars. There was no way anyone would bail her out. âYeah, no. We all know how that can turn you on.â Kenna replied with a smirk. âYou canât have a hard-on while talking about finances now, can you?âÂ
