okay except for no. going to the police is such a hard thing to do and sometimes it isn’t the right decision for the victim in terms of helping them recover. you probably are very uneducated on how the justice system handles sexual assault crimes, because if you actually knew anything about this topic- you wouldn’t be judging it the way you are. so stop and think before making stupid posts that will only make many rape survivors feel horrible.

Going to the police is… Hard? You know what else is hard? The healing for the next girl he rapes. So by not going to the police you’re allowing him to take other women. There is no excuse.

You know, we’d be okay with that too. But not when the characters story lines are practically nonexistent and unoriginal, and not when 80% of them don’t live. Even if all LGBTQ women characters had amazing and original storylines, an 80% death rate would still be pretty boring and lame.

Thats why you shouldnt ask for representation characters, cz they obviously end like that. Characters need alot of creativity, if thats none of the authores idea, he cant make a decent character. Write yourself one, because like that all characters end this way.

I don’t really understand your argument tbh. Why do those characters have to end like that? The writer can do whatever they want, but if they handle LGBTQ representation poorly, or really any representation poorly, they’re going to have to face the consequences of it. Especially when they write most of the other characters creatively. Changing widespread representation isn’t really as simple as “just write your own character”, unfortunately. If it were, we would have done so by now.

Okay, I see what you’re saying. But representation isn’t just having that character for the sake of having diversity, you know? When we ask for LGBTQ characters, we’re asking for characters that are just as well rounded and well written as the other characters, but that happen to be part of the LGBTQ community. If a writer can’t write a character that happens to not be the same sexual orientation or gender as they are, then I would venture to say that they probably shouldn’t be a writer. Authors and writers should start having diverse characters that ARE meant to be there, you know? That’s the whole point of this.

I know, I know. Writers should be able to do that and they know the fans want well made characters. But if youre forcing something onto someone, it will never be as good as something he decided on his own. I think they should try to make more of these chars, but I dont think they should if they dont want to.

EDIT: FORMATTING Ok this law breaks the 14th amendment section 1: All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. Essentially this law is refusing people the right to property (I’m counting adoption as property here, as well as refusing business). But my second note is has anyone read this law to its completion? Because I have. And let me tell you, it’s terrifying. This law revolves around section 2 in that the following are the moral/religious beliefs and convictions that people are allowed to refuse service to (i fixed these so that it’s easier to read): A) Marriage is or should be recognized as a man and a woman. B) Sexual relations are reserved for a man and a woman C) Male and female refers to a person’s sex as decided by anatomy and gender at birth. Sections 3 refers to actions allowed by this law. They are (shortened of course): 1A) people are allowed to perform (yaay) or refuse to perform (not yaay) a marriage, as well as refuse to serve people goods that will be used in a marriage as long as one of the 3 things in sec. 2 are met. 1b) employers are allowed to refuse, terminate, or discipline an employee of the employee if the employee meets the things in sec 2. 1c) Homeowners are allowed to refuse the sale of property to people pertaining to section 2. 2) Adoption facilities are allowed to refuse service based on sec 2 3) /*This one is a bit hard to understand. Basically everything you would use in a wedding. */ 6) Employers are allowed to create sex-specific standards concerning dress, restrooms, spas, baths, locker rooms, or anywhere else like that /* eg intimate */ 7a) Employees in a workplace are allowed to speak out in agreement with sec 2. 7b) Outside of the workplace, it is the employee’s freedom to speak as they like. 8a&b) Anybody from the state with the power to perform marriages are allowed to deny marriages based on sec 2. Section 4-7 is what you aren’t allowed to do, and what you can recieve grievances for. I’d list it, but it mostly has to do with taxes. Section 8 subsection 3 /* the only subsection I found interesting */ States that this law supercedes all other laws passed in Mississippi. Section 9 explains terms used Section 10 States that this law does not break the Mississippi religious freedom act (Section 11-61-1). Section 11 says that the law will be applied, with force on July 1st 2016. That is the bill in its fullest. Well, as far as I know can you in germany refuse to sell anyone lol. Its your freedom to who you sell etc., it would just make the public view of your shop or whatever bad, if you refuse to sell to gay people etc.
