⌠ KRYSTAL JUNG, 22, FEMALE, SHE HER⌡ welcome back to gallagher academy, EU-BIN “EDEN” WOO! according to their records, they’re a FIRST year, specializing in PROTECTION AND ENFORCEMENT & ADVANCED ENCRYPTION; and they DID go to a spy prep high school. when i see them walking around in the halls, i usually see a flash of (a set of fine line colored pens, the smell of crushed plum blossoms, and a focused furrow of the brow). when it’s the (cancer)’s birthday on 7/01/1998, they always request their BUNGEO-PPANG from the school’s chefs. looks like they’re well on their way to graduation.
TLDR:
The youngest of the Woo family, Eu-Bin holds the distinct position of being more or less a prodigy, gifted with intelligence. She learned quickly how differently people treat you when you’re smart and how much they expect from you. To combat it, she hides behind a shy and silly exterior - only flexing her intelligence when it’s needed. This element of surprise translates to her major as well, having strength hidden behind a baby face. She idolizes her brother, and has used his path as a makeshift map to follow for her own, having the same goofy ambition that is so characteristically Woo.
Positive Traits: Intelligent, organized, resourceful, strong, funny
Eu-Bin, “Eden”, Woo was born into a life of richness - both in history and in money. The Woo family had an established presence and history in the spy industry, so it was a life that she saw from day one. And through that, along with ‘old money’, finances were never a problem. Luxury was given to you as long as you proved yourself worthy… more on that later.
Now for many, hearing “working parents” and “rich family” brings to mind a certain type of person. The one raised more so by nannies and being parked in front of a television than family bonding. The Woos weren’t at all like that. Eu-Bin’s memories of her family were filled with laughter, happiness, and goofing around. Even to this day, family is part of her core, her being.
From a young age, it became clear that the youngest Woo was gifted in intelligence. It was easy to pass off at first since she had two older siblings to keep up with. They say that helps kids learn to talk, walk, and hit major milestones more quickly as they have it surrounding them… but once those major milestones were passed, she kept going. Learning basic math as a toddler, teaching herself to read the moment she could get her hands on a book, eating up lessons and learning with a ravenous hunger. A child prodigy, they’d said, and she understood what that meant… but she didn’t like the burden it held.
People treated you differently when you were smart. It was like the world had its eyes on you and while they ooh-ed and ahh-ed, they were constantly dropping weights on your shoulder. They expected you to always win, to share your gifts, to help out others, all while not slipping from the pedestal. It was a lot of pressure that even today, she internalized and let eat away at her.
Luckily, her older brother Jae had a path that she tried her best to parallel. Yes, he was more of a reckless goofball, but it was a great barometer for how far they could go before their parents cracked. She knew how to be goofy and silly without disappointing them, and that humor became her shield. If she didn’t act too smart, people didn’t have the same expectations of her. As she grew older, she wasn’t as loud and comedic, gaining a bit of shyness as any girl growing up does, though she kept the element of surprise when it came to her smarts. Not leading with them but using them when necessary.
In the Woo family, going to a traditional university is expected. Spy prep school, university, then a spy university if you so desired. She left home - Jae did it, why couldn’t she? - and completed a degree in Mathematics from the University of Toronto. One of the top twenty universities in the world. The family trade in spyhood was more behind the scenes, and she knew that knowing how to model risk, statistics, and the like would be on her side.
After graduating, she couldn’t wait to come to Gallagher like her brother. Upon learning that he also skirted some of the family expectation by picking up Driver’s Ed, she wanted to do the very same. Her parents couldn’t say no! So she tacked on Advanced Encryption, hoping to use her mathematics chops to help her with hacking. Behind the screen, too, she felt like the pressures to outwardly succeed melted away a bit. As all anyone cared about was you getting through the walls and information, not competing head-to-head. It was a nice change of pace.

“Ugh,” Eden swatted his hand away. The only person where politeness and pleasantries were tossed to the side, “I knew it was there, Jae. It’s glitter, I don’t know, it’s cute.” Her attempts to try and bring her brightly colored notes into her makeup. “Okay... fine, it’s not me. I get it.”
Cole only shrugs in response, as if to say forever, and he’ll accept that until there’s another option, though he doesn’t hate the situation he’s in now, however difficult. “Back to England for a bit, thought I’m not sure how long,” he tells her. He’s not sure what he’s looking for, whether it’s his past, or redemption, or answers to a new life, but he knows that it should start in his hometown. “Are you returning to Gallagher next year?” Cole asks in return, hoping the answer would be yes, because he’s always known she showed such promise. “Maybe I’m not in a position to making it, but I’d like to try. I can always try,” he says softly.
“Are they letting you graduate?” After what she heard he did prove himself the hero at the very end, helping them be successful. “What do you plan to do in England?” Well, he introduced the idea and now she was asking. As the questions flowed and the conversation continued, her expression began to soften. It wasn’t a rebuilt trust, but she was growing comfortable with him again. “Yes, I’m enjoying my studies.” The rest of it was hard, yes, so was espionage. “...Okay. Um, thank you.”
He winces slightly before nodding in return. “I think… I know I’ll have to use it for the foreseeable future,” Cole corrects, slightly awkwardly. It’s a fact he’s come to accept. There’s no sense in letting it hold him down, not when there’s still so much he can do, not when he’s still living. He wouldn’t have held it against her if she’d told him she never wanted to see him again. She was a precious friend he’d betrayed, despite his desire not to, and his own feelings and regrets don’t make up for the way he’d hurt her. So when he hears the word ‘okay’, he’s surprised, almost concerned he hadn’t heard right, followed by a weightless sort of notion. After a while, in the silence, and with somber eyes, he says, “I promise. Eden, I promise. Anything you need, I’ll give it to you.”
“How long is that?” Eden asked out of curiosity. The medical advancements at the hands of spies were something else, but they were but only students. “Are... Where are you going after all of this?” Because she wanted to know. Did he still get the chance to redeem himself after it? Did she think he deserved that? Maybe at another point, but certainly not this soon, and she wouldn’t say it to his face. “I would be upset with myself if I didn’t.” As if it was to help him more than her, when she truly knew that she wanted to try and bridge things... A little bit. Bring them back to neutral at least. The hate and the anger weighed heavy on her, such unfamiliar emotions. “That’s a very big promise.”
“It’ll be fine, for the most part. I can walk, so that’s good, I’ll just need some help to do it,” Cole answers her softly, nodding to the cane in his hand. He doesn’t want to worry her, but he’s also not sure that she has any capacity to worry about him anymore. He watches her with careful eyes, feeling part of his heart squeeze to hear that she at least believes him. “I’m… I’m glad,” Cole starts again, anxious on how to go on. “Eden, I wanted to come see how you were because I…” He pauses for a moment, nerves battling in his chest. “The infirmary says I can go back to my dorm now, but I… I don’t want to bother you if that’s something that would make you… if you’d rather not be around me now.”
“So it’s not a forever injury, that’s very lucky... Or are you saying you’ll need the cane in perpetuity now?” Eden asked. There was a slight tone of concern to her words. She missed the friend she’d come to know over the year, but she didn’t know who or what was real anymore. So it was easier to tread lightly. No. She wanted to say. To wield what little power she had in the situation. To try and take a stand... but Eden Woo couldn’t do that. The infirmary was nice compared to a standard university, yes, but she doubted it was a comfortable place to be. It probably felt cold and unwelcoming. It was only a few days. Less than if she stayed with Chris instead. “Okay.” Realizing that wasn’t a yes or no, she clarified. “If you promise no more lies.”

he response is why he wasn’t going to say anything until he was certain , a bit of guilt panging inside which just makes him wonder if he’s already certain . “ you should , if that’s what you want to do . i’m , er , just figuring out what i want . you’d be fine without me , though . you know that . ”
“It is what I want to do. Encryption isn’t something I’d fully be able to teach myself... and the connections, the network.” Eden trailed off. The same coveted degree that so many in their family had, it was fate, was it not? This was what she’d been dreaming of for so long. “Sure, yes, that isn’t a question.” Sorry, Jae! “It doesn’t mean I wouldn’t miss you.”
“hey ed.” the blonde greeted, smiling over at her. “thank you love, so do you! yeah it’s been nice. i’m taking a nice break from dancing, but not for too long. how about you?”
“Thank you! It’s always so fun to dress up,” Eden beamed at the compliment. “I was planning on checking out the desserts, do you want to come?”
“ hey eden, ” he greets with a small polite smile. “ i am, yeah. jae’s making me do shots with him. how’s your night going? ”
“Oh no, please don’t indulge him in that,” Eden laughed. Jae would take it too far, like always. “It’s very nice, this is quite the party. I can’t wait to see how they manage to top it next year. How about yours?”
“That’s good, I’m… I’m glad finals went well. But you’ve always been pretty capable,” he says quietly. Cole doesn’t want her to think he’s only complimenting her to get on her good side again, he genuinely thinks so highly of her still. “I’m… managing. Just trying to make it through the year,” he offers a small smile, but it’s hard to make it each his eyes. “Eden, I— I just wanted to…” He shakes his head slightly. “It feels hollow to keep apologizing this many times… but I do mean it.”
“Thank you.” Eden kept the pleasantries short, worried that this was leading to much worse news, and the kindness was a calm before the storm. “Is your leg going to be alright?” That was a genuine concern. Cole may have hurt her, but she didn’t want to wish ill will upon him. Only distance and space. Gaze softened, eyes crinkling slightly as she nodded. There was no need for him to come over and say it, not on such a jovial night. So she knew it was coming from a genuine place. “Thank you. I... I hear your apology. I believe it.” Could she fully accept it? No, but could she move on? Yes.
“No worries at all,” he reassures her, waving his hand before he nods. “I am returning, yes.” He can’t imagine doing anything else but be a spy and the idea of switching schools is impossible to him. “Yes, a few are leaving, it’s been… a tough year to a lot.” An understatement. “I take it you’re returning?”
“Oh perfect! I was afraid the whole campus would be brand new faces.” If there wasn’t a single fourth year, she wouldn’t have been all that surprised either. There were other spy schools, it was too late in the year to get a transfer going she knew. “Yes. I have fallen in love with encryption and there’s nowhere else that will teach me this well.”

“Oh you are too kind. You look amazing as well” Dana said and beamed. “I am, yes. Just walking around, talking to friends. But I am glad that I ran into you”
“Thank you! Do you believe how much they put into this? It’s so fabulous.” It was a band-aid over everything that happened, but she was glad her final memories of first year would be good ones.
gaze drops to her cheeks shortly , a gentle smile playing on his lips . “ no , not at all … i don’t think it’s really possible to be overdressed at something like this . ” caleb turns his head to glance around a moment , more to try and distract her from herself . “ mostly champagne — i don’t really like it but when else will i drink it ? ” because he doesn’t plan to ever again . “ but i haven’t tried the pretty ones , either , so we should . ”
Reaching her palms up to cover her face, she let them drop again as he spoke. “Okay. You know better than me.” The Woos went to fancy events and all, but this was a different bar. A dress code that everyone interpreted differently. A theme! But not a costume party. “The next time we celebrate!” Which... Was soon, she didn’t want to think about it. “Yes, please, let’s go.” Offered a hand if he wanted it.
“Oh, no, this is so cool!” Hana enthuses, doing a little twirl as she looks up at the ceiling. “They really don’t cut back on anything for these things, do they?”
“Your dress is great too,” Eden nodded, beaming as she watched it spin along with Hana’s movements. “No, they don’t! One would think that the education suffered for it, but the classrooms and facilities are also top tier.”
“the wings look nice, but yes, i imagine they get uncomfortable after awhile. still, i definitely get the effect without the wings.” eden just kind of gives off angelic vibes in general. “thank you! that’s what i was going for. my mother picked it out.”
“Yes, exactly, they must feel heavy or you may walk around bumping into things.” That wasn’t at all graceful, in her mind, angels were the picture of grace. “Oh wow! That’s so exciting. Will you be here next year?”
“ no , you’re fine . ” though could skylar survive without him ? he’s obviously looking for eva , clings to steve where he gets the chance . adam’s somewhere . “ uh . ” jae responds quickly , but finds he’s jumped the gun too quick . “ i think so . ” it’s vague and uncertain because he doesn’t know .
“Okay, it’ll be quick, I promise.” Eden felt nervous, not used to this around her brother. “Oh.” Think wasn’t a guarantee and it made her heart sink. Between both of their traditional schooling and internships, it’d been years since they were in the same place for a long period of time. “I am. I know.”

“you look lovely! definitely gives off the proper vibes for the saints theme.” luna’s not making a statement by wearing black, she just thought black would look nice with her red hair.
“Thank you! I wanted to feel very ethereal, I don’t think I could have maneuvered the whole night with wings like some people. Your outfit is very pretty!” Eden smiled, “Your hair pops.”
He’s able to walk around a little better now, relying on the cane and some patience. Cole’s been avoiding this for a while, in part because it draws a lot of anxiety in him and in part because he doesn’t want to bother her again. But he misses the company of both of his roommates, so when he spots Eden by herself in the common-room, he tentatively walks over and awkwardly clears his throat. “I, ah… I’ve been wanting to see how you’ve been.”
Expression couldn’t help but turn sympathetic seeing the other. They hadn’t left on a good note, but she wasn’t heartless enough to ignore the fact that he was in a bad situation. “Hello Cole.” How did she answer that question? “Alright, focusing on finals, that’s over now.” Neutral territory to start. “What about you?”
