â KRYSTAL JUNG, 22, FEMALE, SHE HER⥠welcome back to gallagher academy, EU-BIN âEDENâ WOO! according to their records, theyâre a FIRST year, specializing in PROTECTION AND ENFORCEMENT & ADVANCED ENCRYPTION; and they DID go to a spy prep high school. when i see them walking around in the halls, i usually see a flash of (a set of fine line colored pens, the smell of crushed plum blossoms, and a focused furrow of the brow). when itâs the (cancer)âs birthday on 7/01/1998, they always request their BUNGEO-PPANG from the schoolâs chefs. looks like theyâre well on their way to graduation.Â
TLDR:
The youngest of the Woo family, Eu-Bin holds the distinct position of being more or less a prodigy, gifted with intelligence. She learned quickly how differently people treat you when youâre smart and how much they expect from you. To combat it, she hides behind a shy and silly exterior - only flexing her intelligence when itâs needed. This element of surprise translates to her major as well, having strength hidden behind a baby face. She idolizes her brother, and has used his path as a makeshift map to follow for her own, having the same goofy ambition that is so characteristically Woo.
Positive Traits: Intelligent, organized, resourceful, strong, funny
Eu-Bin, âEdenâ, Woo was born into a life of richness - both in history and in money. The Woo family had an established presence and history in the spy industry, so it was a life that she saw from day one. And through that, along with âold moneyâ, finances were never a problem. Luxury was given to you as long as you proved yourself worthy⌠more on that later.
Now for many, hearing âworking parentsâ and ârich familyâ brings to mind a certain type of person. The one raised more so by nannies and being parked in front of a television than family bonding. The Woos werenât at all like that. Eu-Binâs memories of her family were filled with laughter, happiness, and goofing around. Even to this day, family is part of her core, her being.
From a young age, it became clear that the youngest Woo was gifted in intelligence. It was easy to pass off at first since she had two older siblings to keep up with. They say that helps kids learn to talk, walk, and hit major milestones more quickly as they have it surrounding them⌠but once those major milestones were passed, she kept going. Learning basic math as a toddler, teaching herself to read the moment she could get her hands on a book, eating up lessons and learning with a ravenous hunger. A child prodigy, theyâd said, and she understood what that meant⌠but she didnât like the burden it held.
People treated you differently when you were smart. It was like the world had its eyes on you and while they ooh-ed and ahh-ed, they were constantly dropping weights on your shoulder. They expected you to always win, to share your gifts, to help out others, all while not slipping from the pedestal. It was a lot of pressure that even today, she internalized and let eat away at her.
Luckily, her older brother Jae had a path that she tried her best to parallel. Yes, he was more of a reckless goofball, but it was a great barometer for how far they could go before their parents cracked. She knew how to be goofy and silly without disappointing them, and that humor became her shield. If she didnât act too smart, people didnât have the same expectations of her. As she grew older, she wasnât as loud and comedic, gaining a bit of shyness as any girl growing up does, though she kept the element of surprise when it came to her smarts. Not leading with them but using them when necessary.
In the Woo family, going to a traditional university is expected. Spy prep school, university, then a spy university if you so desired. She left home - Jae did it, why couldnât she? - and completed a degree in Mathematics from the University of Toronto. One of the top twenty universities in the world. The family trade in spyhood was more behind the scenes, and she knew that knowing how to model risk, statistics, and the like would be on her side.
After graduating, she couldnât wait to come to Gallagher like her brother. Upon learning that he also skirted some of the family expectation by picking up Driverâs Ed, she wanted to do the very same. Her parents couldnât say no! So she tacked on Advanced Encryption, hoping to use her mathematics chops to help her with hacking. Behind the screen, too, she felt like the pressures to outwardly succeed melted away a bit. As all anyone cared about was you getting through the walls and information, not competing head-to-head. It was a nice change of pace.

âUgh,â Eden swatted his hand away. The only person where politeness and pleasantries were tossed to the side, âI knew it was there, Jae. Itâs glitter, I donât know, itâs cute.â Her attempts to try and bring her brightly colored notes into her makeup. âOkay... fine, itâs not me. I get it.â
Cole only shrugs in response, as if to say forever, and heâll accept that until thereâs another option, though he doesnât hate the situation heâs in now, however difficult. âBack to England for a bit, thought Iâm not sure how long,â he tells her. Heâs not sure what heâs looking for, whether itâs his past, or redemption, or answers to a new life, but he knows that it should start in his hometown. âAre you returning to Gallagher next year?â Cole asks in return, hoping the answer would be yes, because heâs always known she showed such promise. âMaybe Iâm not in a position to making it, but Iâd like to try. I can always try,â he says softly.
âAre they letting you graduate?â After what she heard he did prove himself the hero at the very end, helping them be successful. âWhat do you plan to do in England?â Well, he introduced the idea and now she was asking. As the questions flowed and the conversation continued, her expression began to soften. It wasnât a rebuilt trust, but she was growing comfortable with him again. âYes, Iâm enjoying my studies.â The rest of it was hard, yes, so was espionage. â...Okay. Um, thank you.â
He winces slightly before nodding in return. âI think⌠I know Iâll have to use it for the foreseeable future,â Cole corrects, slightly awkwardly. Itâs a fact heâs come to accept. Thereâs no sense in letting it hold him down, not when thereâs still so much he can do, not when heâs still living. He wouldnât have held it against her if sheâd told him she never wanted to see him again. She was a precious friend heâd betrayed, despite his desire not to, and his own feelings and regrets donât make up for the way heâd hurt her. So when he hears the word âokayâ, heâs surprised, almost concerned he hadnât heard right, followed by a weightless sort of notion. After a while, in the silence, and with somber eyes, he says, âI promise. Eden, I promise. Anything you need, Iâll give it to you.â
âHow long is that?â Eden asked out of curiosity. The medical advancements at the hands of spies were something else, but they were but only students. âAre... Where are you going after all of this?â Because she wanted to know. Did he still get the chance to redeem himself after it? Did she think he deserved that? Maybe at another point, but certainly not this soon, and she wouldnât say it to his face. âI would be upset with myself if I didnât.â As if it was to help him more than her, when she truly knew that she wanted to try and bridge things... A little bit. Bring them back to neutral at least. The hate and the anger weighed heavy on her, such unfamiliar emotions. âThatâs a very big promise.â
âItâll be fine, for the most part. I can walk, so thatâs good, Iâll just need some help to do it,â Cole answers her softly, nodding to the cane in his hand. He doesnât want to worry her, but heâs also not sure that she has any capacity to worry about him anymore. He watches her with careful eyes, feeling part of his heart squeeze to hear that she at least believes him. âIâm⌠Iâm glad,â Cole starts again, anxious on how to go on. âEden, I wanted to come see how you were because IâŚâ He pauses for a moment, nerves battling in his chest. âThe infirmary says I can go back to my dorm now, but I⌠I donât want to bother you if thatâs something that would make you⌠if youâd rather not be around me now.â
âSo itâs not a forever injury, thatâs very lucky... Or are you saying youâll need the cane in perpetuity now?â Eden asked. There was a slight tone of concern to her words. She missed the friend sheâd come to know over the year, but she didnât know who or what was real anymore. So it was easier to tread lightly. No. She wanted to say. To wield what little power she had in the situation. To try and take a stand... but Eden Woo couldnât do that. The infirmary was nice compared to a standard university, yes, but she doubted it was a comfortable place to be. It probably felt cold and unwelcoming. It was only a few days. Less than if she stayed with Chris instead. âOkay.â Realizing that wasnât a yes or no, she clarified. âIf you promise no more lies.â

he response is why he wasnât going to say anything until he was certain , a bit of guilt panging inside which just makes him wonder if heâs already certain .  â you should , if thatâs what you want to do . iâm , er , just figuring out what i want . youâd be fine without me , though . you know that . â
âIt is what I want to do. Encryption isnât something Iâd fully be able to teach myself... and the connections, the network.â Eden trailed off. The same coveted degree that so many in their family had, it was fate, was it not? This was what sheâd been dreaming of for so long. âSure, yes, that isnât a question.â Sorry, Jae! âIt doesnât mean I wouldnât miss you.â
âhey ed.â the blonde greeted, smiling over at her. âthank you love, so do you! yeah itâs been nice. iâm taking a nice break from dancing, but not for too long. how about you?âÂ
âThank you! Itâs always so fun to dress up,â Eden beamed at the compliment. âI was planning on checking out the desserts, do you want to come?â
â hey eden, â he greets with a small polite smile. â i am, yeah. jaeâs making me do shots with him. howâs your night going? â
âOh no, please donât indulge him in that,â Eden laughed. Jae would take it too far, like always. âItâs very nice, this is quite the party. I canât wait to see how they manage to top it next year. How about yours?â
âThatâs good, Iâm⌠Iâm glad finals went well. But youâve always been pretty capable,â he says quietly. Cole doesnât want her to think heâs only complimenting her to get on her good side again, he genuinely thinks so highly of her still. âIâm⌠managing. Just trying to make it through the year,â he offers a small smile, but itâs hard to make it each his eyes. âEden, Iâ I just wanted toâŚâ He shakes his head slightly. âIt feels hollow to keep apologizing this many times⌠but I do mean it.â
âThank you.â Eden kept the pleasantries short, worried that this was leading to much worse news, and the kindness was a calm before the storm. âIs your leg going to be alright?â That was a genuine concern. Cole may have hurt her, but she didnât want to wish ill will upon him. Only distance and space. Gaze softened, eyes crinkling slightly as she nodded. There was no need for him to come over and say it, not on such a jovial night. So she knew it was coming from a genuine place. âThank you. I... I hear your apology. I believe it.â Could she fully accept it? No, but could she move on? Yes.
âNo worries at all,â he reassures her, waving his hand before he nods. âI am returning, yes.â He canât imagine doing anything else but be a spy and the idea of switching schools is impossible to him. âYes, a few are leaving, itâs been⌠a tough year to a lot.â An understatement. âI take it youâre returning?â
âOh perfect! I was afraid the whole campus would be brand new faces.â If there wasnât a single fourth year, she wouldnât have been all that surprised either. There were other spy schools, it was too late in the year to get a transfer going she knew. âYes. I have fallen in love with encryption and thereâs nowhere else that will teach me this well.â

âOh you are too kind. You look amazing as wellâ Dana said and beamed. âI am, yes. Just walking around, talking to friends. But I am glad that I ran into youâ
âThank you! Do you believe how much they put into this? Itâs so fabulous.â It was a band-aid over everything that happened, but she was glad her final memories of first year would be good ones.
gaze drops to her cheeks shortly , a gentle smile playing on his lips .  â no , not at all âŚÂ  i donât think itâs really possible to be overdressed at something like this . â caleb turns his head to glance around a moment , more to try and distract her from herself .  â mostly champagne  â  i donât really like it but when else will i drink it ? â  because he doesnât plan to ever again .  â but i havenât tried the pretty ones , either , so we should . â
Reaching her palms up to cover her face, she let them drop again as he spoke. âOkay. You know better than me.â The Woos went to fancy events and all, but this was a different bar. A dress code that everyone interpreted differently. A theme! But not a costume party. âThe next time we celebrate!â Which... Was soon, she didnât want to think about it. âYes, please, letâs go.â Offered a hand if he wanted it.
âOh, no, this is so cool!â Hana enthuses, doing a little twirl as she looks up at the ceiling. âThey really donât cut back on anything for these things, do they?â
âYour dress is great too,â Eden nodded, beaming as she watched it spin along with Hanaâs movements. âNo, they donât! One would think that the education suffered for it, but the classrooms and facilities are also top tier.â
âthe wings look nice, but yes, i imagine they get uncomfortable after awhile. still, i definitely get the effect without the wings.â eden just kind of gives off angelic vibes in general. âthank you! thatâs what i was going for. my mother picked it out.â
âYes, exactly, they must feel heavy or you may walk around bumping into things.â That wasnât at all graceful, in her mind, angels were the picture of grace. âOh wow! Thatâs so exciting. Will you be here next year?â
âOkay, itâll be quick, I promise.â Eden felt nervous, not used to this around her brother. âOh.â Think wasnât a guarantee and it made her heart sink. Between both of their traditional schooling and internships, itâd been years since they were in the same place for a long period of time. âI am. I know.â

âyou look lovely! definitely gives off the proper vibes for the saints theme.â lunaâs not making a statement by wearing black, she just thought black would look nice with her red hair.
âThank you! I wanted to feel very ethereal, I donât think I could have maneuvered the whole night with wings like some people. Your outfit is very pretty!â Eden smiled, âYour hair pops.â
Heâs able to walk around a little better now, relying on the cane and some patience. Coleâs been avoiding this for a while, in part because it draws a lot of anxiety in him and in part because he doesnât want to bother her again. But he misses the company of both of his roommates, so when he spots Eden by herself in the common-room, he tentatively walks over and awkwardly clears his throat. âI, ah⌠Iâve been wanting to see how youâve been.â
Expression couldnât help but turn sympathetic seeing the other. They hadnât left on a good note, but she wasnât heartless enough to ignore the fact that he was in a bad situation. âHello Cole.â How did she answer that question? âAlright, focusing on finals, thatâs over now.â Neutral territory to start. âWhat about you?â
