“How did you know it was the 10 inch i was confessing to having?” He said with a laugh, before stepping forward to accept the light lighting the cigarette he really hated the habit but stress had really been getting to him lately. “well now that i don’t doubt you seem to have an engaging persoality if you’re like this all the time.” He definitely found the guy amusing and was happy to laugh along “well here’s hoping that’s part the reason he isn’t here yet and its not something like him standing you up” he smiled at the guy. “ want some company while you wait or will he assume you’ve given up waiting and settled for me?”

Ethan smiled at that. “With great power comes great responsibility. I’m sure the size queens love you.” He watched him light the cigarette, reaching out for his lighter when the man was done. “If I’m getting ghosted, I’m getting ghosted. Been there, done that. I’m versatile like that. I can dish it and I can take it.” He kicked the chair in front of him, giving Nick space to sit. “Go for it, ten inches.”

“God, you’re too much.”  She rolled her eyes but Kennedy was grinning.  Ethan might have been a handful but she loved the guy regardless. Her smiled faded to a frown as he mentioned watching movies with his dog tonight though and she shook her head, placing a hand on his shoulder as the waitress brought over his tab.  “No, no, no, tonight is July 4th and you’re coming with me to the Valentine party.  Half the town will be there so I’m sure you’ll be able to find someone worth flirting with under the fireworks.”

“Just like my dick. Too much.” He snickered at that. He couldn’t resist a dick joke when it was hanging right in front of him. Ethan cocked an eyebrow at the invitation. “The Valentine party? Jesus. Only if I get to meet Octomom herself. I always wanted to know if popping out that many kids fucks with your head. Is it like if I did poppers every night for the past five years— oh wait...” He threw his hands up. “Fine. But I thought you wanted to fuck that waiter boy?”

“Not quite. I just am pessimistic.” He shrugged softly as he took another sip of his delicious beverage. “Well if you say dating helps, who am I to judge? Maybe we should give it a go.” He chuckled as he set down his cup. Roman never really stereotyped himself as a twink but he wasn’t surprised someone else viewed him as one. “I can’t believe I just got called a twink.” A laugh escaped from him once more. “Of course I do. You don’t? Maybe you haven’t had the right dick.”

“Oh.” Ethan frowned. “That’s not as fun. I was looking forward to hearing all about your tragic backstory.” Frown quickly shifting into a smirk, Ethan nodded his head. “Sure. I’m really good at dating. I love buying people shit and being eye candy. I’m not so good at the whole relationship thingy, but dating is hella.” He grabbed his own cup, taking a drink as he listened to Roman. “You can’t? You must have been avoiding mirrors for a very long time. And here I thought the messy looking hair was intentional.” He scoffed, “Please. I’m like Prince Charming trying to fit the glass slipper on every girl in town. Except replace girl with guy and glass slipper with my ass. I’ve had plenty of right dicks.”

Jack shrugged “I guess? But it’s not gonna just completely grow exponentially out of thin air, unless you are gambling or something. If I were to put it in the bank and leave it for a solid number of years than maybe?” He was lucky where money had never really been a big issue, so he wasn’t super hard pressed about the possibility of getting an extra hundred bucks. He would probably just end up using it on groceries or something, in the unlikely situation where he would win it. Jack grinned and pet the dog “Aw whose a good boy” He said in a slightly higher pitched voice then his normal one. “That’s a cool name, has he brought you lots of luck?”

With a roll of his eyes and a shake of his head, Ethan continued. “No. It’s not going to grow exponentially out of thin air. Unless you’ve got a magic wand.” He shrugged then. He made the assumption that Jack didn’t think too much about finances. Judging people and making assumptions was Ethan’s go-to. “Good luck getting one of those. But I guess... first you have to win. So, are we going to find out if you did or not?” He nodded, “I guess. I’m lucky for him, really. He’s a great dog. Maybe some of that luck will rub off on you.”

Peter had spoken before he’d really seen who the other man was and once he realized it was Ethan, he kind of wished he hadn’t at all.  He stopped with his dog and Peter’s eyes immediately went to the animal with a small smile on his face.  He was sure the moment Maddie noticed the dog she’d be running over here but so far she hadn’t.  “Don’t think she’d let me put a leash on her even if I wanted to.” He looked up at Ethan a moment and tried to bite back whatever ill will he had towards the man.  The past was supposed to be behind him but the anger still lingered.  “Okay if I pet him?”  He asked, letting his eyes return to the dog before holding out his hand to let him sniff him.

Ethan could tell he was getting under Peter’s skin. That made him smile. He crossed his arms before using one hand to tilt down his Gucci sunglasses. “Go for it.” He said simply, looking down at Lucky and gesturing a hand signal to the dog that released him from his sit. Lucky walked over to the other man, sniffing his hand before giving him a lick, tail wagging and panting happily for attention. “He’s great with other dogs.”

“Wow, when did you get to be so generous?”  She laughed at the smug look on his face at the idea of two of him walking around.  If he had a clone then Ethan would probably be trying to fuck himself if Kennedy wasn’t. Though he was right that they would make a hot couple.  They’d pretended to be a couple plenty of times when a creepy guy wouldn’t leave Kennedy alone, or Ethan was trying to ditch some guy who was being too clingy.  They were quick to read each other’s signals and swoop in to save the other when needed, and people often stared as they left the bar, confirming what they both already knew.

Kennedy grimaced at his suggestions for luck and shook her head. “Ooh, yeah I think I’ll skip all that and just keep working my tail off until I can afford a Porsche.” Kennedy Marshall was a lot of things but one of the ones she was most proud of was how hard she worked to get what she wanted.  She’d long ago stopped taking handouts from her parents and learned to take care of herself. Ethan’s comment made her smile and she shot him a quick wink before finishing her drink and setting the glass back on the table.  “So how long are we waiting for your date before you look for your next victim?”

“I’ll have you know, I give every single day. Mostly my presence. Truly a gift. My ass if you’re a hot guy. Very giving. Very generous.” He tossed his head back, groaning. “Smarter, not harder, Ken.” Still, he flashed her a smile. If there was anything Ethan could say about Kennedy, it was that she was tenacious. And tenacity, as Ethan understood it, held the key to success. Following her lead, he finished his own drink and flagged down the waiter, calling him over. “Oh, I dunno. Maybe if he ghosted me, then tonight’s not meant to be. Maybe I’m meant to watch rom-coms with my dog tonight instead. What do you think? Does ‘The Proposal’ have my name written all over it? God, I want Ryan Reynolds to fuck me.”

Nick had made his way into the garden of the bar glass of whisky in his hand, as he slipped his hand into his pocket annoyed to find he hadn’t remembered to bring a lighter, he didn’t often smoke but when he was stressed he ended up having a couple to calm himself, recently he had been leaning on it more then normal, something he knew was wrong when he would need his lungs in good condition for any dives but it was only really one or two a week. Sighing he made his way over to a guy who was sipping on a drink nearby. He was a little suprised at the comment he was greeted by and let out a light chuckle “I mean yes to one of those" He said amused “I was actually going to ask if you had a light on you.”

“I wasn’t talking about a six pack of beer.” Ethan’s natural inclination was to tease. He couldn’t count the amount of times he got in trouble as a kid for having a smart mouth. Some habits were hard to break. “The only light I have on me is my shining personality.” He reached into his pocket, pulling out a small lighter. “Oh, and I guess I have this lighter too.” He tossed it to Nick. “In case my Grindr date wanted to smoke weed. Nothing beats a high fuck.”

Jack grinned before standing back up “Yeah, I mean, the grand prize on this is like 100 bucks, so not exactly a big windfall that I’d have lost out on” He said, before putting it back into his pocket. He looked at the dog that was now sitting nearby “Aw, what’s his name? Is he friendly?” Jack said, inching his hand forward so that he could easily pet the pup if he was given permission. Dogs were cool, but a lot of work. In the future, when he had a house or whatever, he’d probably be up for having one. But right now, he needed something a little more low maintenance.

“A hundred bucks is a lot of money!” Ethan exclaimed. Sure, he was worth a lot more than that, but money was money. “A hundred bucks can easily become two hundred. Two hundred can become three. Then four.” He gestured as he talked. “You get the point. Or you can blow a hundred bucks on hookers and booze. Either way, maybe you’re a winner.” He nodded, giving Lucky a scratch on the head. “Lucky. You can pet him; he’s a good ol’ boy.” The dog wagged his tail as he anticipated Jack approaching. Ethan knew his dog well, always being one step ahead. “Stay, buddy.” He asked, and the dog steadily complied. As friendly as Lucky was, Ethan didn’t want his dog jumping up on strangers and greeting everybody, despite the dog’s inclination.

“Now that sounds like a dull life.” She teased, wondering if he was actually right often or if it were his ego speaking. “It’s more fun when there is at least some mystery as to how anything will turn out.” Emily eagerly leaned closer, cooing over the dog in the photograph. “He is absolutely darling!” She loved dogs, but she was particular towards the sweet pups with goofy expressions. “Is there a story behind the name?” 

Sucking his teeth, he knew Emily was right on that point. It was a throw away comment, but unpredictability was truly the spice of life. “Shit.” He said. “You got me there.” A smile then. “Maybe my clock’s running on Daylight Savings.” He nodded his head at her question. “Kinda. He’s definitely my lucky charm. And luck’s really important to me, so I need all the lucky charms I can get. I’m like a tall sexy leprechaun.” 

Brayden couldnt help but laugh at Ethan’s remarks about how hot he was.  And he was hot, but Brayden wouldn’t admit that.  He was too wrapped up in a certain little blonde Valentine girl to even acknowledge the way anyone else looked. “You’re awfully confident.”  Brayden mused, letting his eyes wander to one of the tv screens above the bar. “I guess that’s not a bad thing though, most people think confidence is sexy, as long as it doesn’t cross over into being cocky.”

Ethan held back a scoff. There was such a thin line between confidence and cocky that it might as well have been the same thing. Plus, what was ever the point of modesty? If it was all semantics, Ethan would classify modesty as inauthentic. Simply pointless. “Well. You know what they say. Dick so big I had to put some of it in my personality. I love cock so much I ended up getting all cocky and shit.” He said it with a grin. Why philosophize with strangers when you can throw them off with one-liners instead, Ethan thought.

Frank nods to that, he had met some women with the same crazy freaky thinking and he had to admit they were really fun to hang out with. “If that’s what gets you going. Future autobiography, huh? I’m guessing you’re an artist then.” He took the glass the bartender brought over and held it up briefly as to cheer the man. “Well, at least you got the look, huh Ethan. Nice meeting you, I’m Frank.”

“Artist?” Ethan considered that. “I guess you can say that. Being beautiful, smart, and having a great body is definitely an art. It’s like, the triple threat. But a way more beneficial triple threat.” He followed suit to Frank’s cheer and brought his own glass to his lips. “That I do. What’s your deal, Frank? Do you always go up and chat up F words waiting for their Grindr dates or is this your first time?”

Peter sat at one of the picnic tables in the park with his lunch, working on some case files as his daughter Madelyn played with a friend.  He kept an eye on her and her little friend as he worked, smiling at the way her little blonde pigtails bounced as she ran across the grass.  “Not too far, Maddie!”  He called out, reminding her to stay close where he could see her.  He heard the footsteps behind him and turned his head to the other person with a smile.  “Does it make me sound like a helicopter parent if I tell her she can’t run past those trees?”  Peter smiled, letting his eyes move back to watch his child.

Peter must have responded automatically. Shit, Ethan figured he could even go another route when he say the other male. However, there was nobody in the world that could make him do something he didn’t want to do. He held a leash in his hand, attached to the harness of his Golden Retriever, Lucky. Wagging his tail, the dog attempted to approach Peter with a friendly pant. “Sit.” Ethan managed to command, while tossing Peter a long eye roll. “Don’t ask me. Don’t care about any of that shit, but maybe you’d be one if you had a leash for her.” He held up his own in hand.

“Sounds dangerous.” Frank was from Los Angeles so nothing was truly that odd or different to him. Blunty open people were also a norm among Hollywood. “If that’s what you dig, who am I to judge, right?” He nodded listening to his liquor mix choices and amusedly asks, “I get it. Have fun but no need to get extra pounds, right? I like my alcohol cleaner I guess.” He called out the bartender and asked for a whiskey on the rocks. “Vodka Tonics is nice tho, I’ll give you that… What’s your name again? Or are you trying to stay mysterious?”

“The nut’s always better when there’s a hint of danger. Plus, my future autobiography would be so boring if I didn’t have at least one stranger who tried to kill me during sex. It’s like, a double climax.” He nodded approvingly at Frank’s choice. “That works too. I’m more of a Vodka boy, but whatever floats your boat.” He laughed then, gesturing with his hand. “You think I can look this good and be mysterious? Nah. I’m Ethan, nice to meet you.”
