Splish splash

The water runs

The kids laugh

The fire crackles

The candle burns

The old read

The young learns

Tuck tuck

Nice and tight

A kiss to head

While you laugh and sit

You make up words

While I bare grit

You know freedom

Of which i have none

You press start

When I'm all done

"Just stay strong"

You say from afar

"You can't even see"

My wounds open, ajar.

From high on a throne

Looking so far down

A palace of standards

Built on false ground

But oh it was me

Who gave you that seat

And oh woe is me

For feeling defeat

I tried and you lied

Like day and night

I died in your pride

It serves me right
