Her feathered headwings ruffle, giving away her delight in being able to help in some way after all. “That is good to hear, I’ll be sure to leave an excellent review.” More positivity around the place would help, she sure hoped. Her own first impression had been nothing but positive after all, nothing at all like the image the family name had conjured. Soren certainly is glad that she decided for herself rather than believe the rumours. She hopes that one day, the dark stain of the Filsalia name will fade.
Soren’s focus then shifted to the two jars the Mjara had retrieved, their gaze stopping upon the one that contained the lizards. As much as she knew that such could be used as ingredients for many medications, knowing and seeing were two different things to her. As much as she would never express it, it was just...slightly gross watching them float around in that cloudy liquid. Well…she’d try to not think about it too much, besides, she was highly curious about the process and how they would be used. Curiosity soon turned into concern once she’d noticed the other fiddling with an empty jar. Perhaps something was missing? Her head tilts in question once Mjara turns back at her, deepening her assumption, even more so when she was no longer able to meet her gaze. Ah. So her assumption was correct. She couldn’t blame her really, she’s sure it was easy with how busy it must have been as of late to lose track of supplies. “It’s alright, it's hardly an inconvenience, don’t worry, these things happen after all.” Her tone was softer than normal as she spoke, to try and get across to the other that she was not upset or mad at this turn of events. “Perhaps…” She trails off, thinking carefully over what Mjara had said on the situation, an idea slowly coming to her. Her day was rather free with the exception of having to go out to record some abnormal frequencies to send back to Tethys later, so perhaps here too, she could help. Two birds with one stone, right? “I may have an alternative idea for you that doesn’t involve you having to leave. I could be the one to go out and retrieve those butterflies for you. With Rosemary away and with how busy you have surely been, it is likely not a good idea for you to go outself, no? I do have some work to do outside the city anyway.” Soren sure hoped that was a convincing enough proposal. Besides, how hard can catching some butterflies be?
HER EXPRESSION WARPED FROM 'DOWNTRODDEN RECEPTIONIST' TO ONE OF SHEER BEWILDERMENT ——— surprised not only by the ease with which they'd seemed to take the news, but by such an... unusual offer. Most wouldn't be caught dead doing fetch quests for a family so infamous, and she assumed that maybe the poor individual was simply too selfless for their own good...
Hopeful to save herself from further embarrassment, she relaxed her face and chuckled lightly.
"You realize, Soren, that I'd be a sitting duck either way if another customer were to stop by and ask for the same thing you did," Mjara began, even if that scenario alone was largely debatable, "I'd be crushed if I couldn't provide them with what they needed either."
Translation. She wouldn't have been able to withstand the endless complaining if she didn't have what they wanted. And no amount of nodding and smiling through it would've made it any less insufferable.
"I know you're very eager to help, but I can assure you that I can handle the job just fine. A Black Shores operative like yourself surely has more pressing matters to attend to over chasing around elusive butterflies — I'll be alright!"
With that, she had managed to regain some of her earlier composure once more; hands resting over each other on the counter as she smiled their way. Stellar hospitality was so back.
