i thought i had my girl but she ran away. my car got stolen and i’m gonna be late for work this week. make that the fourth day straight but i’m fine with it. i thought i had it all but i gave it away. i quit that old job; now i’m doing okay. those material things, they can’t get in my way ‘cause i’m over it. but whatever she may be -- she could be money, cars, fear of the dark, your best friends, or just strangers in bars. whoever she is, whoever she may be. one thing’s for sure, you don’t have to worry. 

night falls with gravity. the earth turns from sanity. taking my only friend i know. he leaves a lot. his name is hope. i’m never what i like. i’m double-sided and i just can’t hide. i kind of like it when i make you cry ‘cause i’m twisted up. i’m twisted up inside. the horrors of the night melt away under the warm glow of survival of the day then we move on. my shadow grows taller along with my fears and my frame shrinks smaller as night grows near.

nobody thinks what i think. nobody dreams when they blink. think things on the brink of blasphemy. i’m my own shrink. think things are after me; my catastrophe. i’m a kitchen sink. you don’t know what that means because a kitchen sink to you is not a kitchen sink to me. okay, friend? are you searching for purpose? then write something. yeah, it might be worthless. paint something then. it might be wordless. pointless curses, nonsense verses. you’ll see purpose starts to surface. no one else is dealing with your demons. meaning maybe defeating them could be the beginning of your meaning, friend. 

if you wanna know, i’ve always tried to take it slow. never let you go. i’m always chasing after your rope. afraid you didn’t know i would be at the end of it and i won’t let you go. at the end of it so just don’t let go. if you wanna go, i would take you there. i hope you know. is it getting cold? if you’re staying in, i wouldn’t dare go out anymore. if you trace the thread, you will find a knot inside my head. barely movies an inch. guess it’s not a very present issue. please don’t let go.
