i. What is this?

This is a port of the thread @brightmyth-fr posted earlier today in the FR discussion forums, which was then deleted a short while ago. I am reuploading it here to my blog on behalf of the AAA discord server for visibility; though I agree with the contents of this post, I did not write it. Please keep this in mind when commenting/sending messages.

Tl;DR: 

- Several skin denials in the recent past seem to reflect unclear or unwritten rules for custom skins. The listed skin rules have also not been updated significantly in a number of years, despite significant changes being made to the applied skin rules over time.

- We, as in a number of skin artists, are requesting that admins clarify the existing skin rules on site. We are not asking for them to be changed; we are asking for them to be reworded in such a way that reflects what skins are and aren’t denied according to sources like recent denial messages, the Skins & Accents problems thread, etc.

- This concerns the admins, not the skin moderators, who we recognize also struggle with the unclear rules and with keeping up with long skin review queues.

- If you are a skin maker, consider releasing the next set of skins you had planned and then avoiding releases for the rest of April to help bring awareness to this issue. A number of artists in the AAA discord server have agreed to do this. However, participation is entirely up to you - this is not a demand for all skin makers to stop submitting personal skins, public skins, festival entries, etc.

This is not a suggestion thread, hence why it’s not posted in suggestions. This is an information and awareness post. 

Skin submission is a very lengthy process for a majority of skin artists. The biggest frustration we are dealing with currently is lack of clarification on rules. The current skin guide is nearly a decade out of date.

We do not ask for the rules to be changed. We would like staff to update the on-site skin guide. Rules have clearly changed since it was written and there are VERY minor things that will get a skin 100% denied.

Failing that, this can serve as a warning for aspiring skin artists to not fall into these common denial traps.

500g or 25 chests for the purple/orange

850g or 50 chests for the rest

You can pay 50/50 too, slots are this my default unless you ask me otherwise, so the accent will be 13 chests and 250g, the skin is 25 and 425g.

You can pay as you go but if you fail to send me the payment by disintegration time, you’ll lose your slot and will not be refunded what you had paid, I will give plenty of reminders before this!

Coelestian columns take inspiration from the ancient palaces of the water flight. They often feature abalone, quartz, and other sea-occurring minerals and typically incorporate celestial motifs.

Earthborn columns utilize minerals found in the desert, but often call back to the White Wasteland’s past life as a thriving ocean. They often bear mosaics depicting kelp beds and aquatic creatures.

So good news/bad news, please note this is a quick assessment and may change.

Good news: most of the new enemies can be rallied-eliminated with a Str 117. Also good news, more 2 enemies battles and the Kelpies are really slow. (I am thinking the latter is a mistake that will be fixed)

Bad news: lots of attacking creatures which will make starting packs difficult to find. The Armored Colony and Fungal Garden require two scratches before they can be eliminated. With a Str 119 build they can be 1 scratch and then eliminated. 

Conclusion: Too man damn attackers, but still may work. Need 119 Str or greater build most likely and fuck the armadillos.

Before I go to bed, this is the stating I landed on tonight since my mind was failing at figuring out the Meditate variation. A little less speed and a lot more vitality, but still enough to whizz past most of the creatures and stomp everything with Rally-Eliminate. You could still probably do the Str 119/ Vit 19/Qck 69 or  Str 119 / Vit 33 / Qck 62 build (or something similar with Str 119) and it would work out just fine as long as you remember which creatures to scratch/eliminate.
