some people like to get mad at disability benefits because they think its unfair people who dont work get a payout from the government while they have to work 50 hours at the human suffering factory every week. but if you tell them "yeah that sucks i think you should also get a universal allowance and not have to work 50 hours at the human suffering factory every week" thats apparently the wrong answer.

one of my favourite human songs-and-dances is when someone notices someone else is lying and, for no particular reason besides love of the game, helps them get away with the lie without ever explicitly acknowledging they noticed. nightmare social animals.

everyone should have an unpopular ship in a huge fandom and/or a teeny tiny microfandom at some point in their fannish lives. ideally both. when you've spent some time getting excited because three people commented on your latest fic and you were just hoping for one it's gonna teach you some perspective
