In-game it never comes up, let alone as a negative aspect. You notice how sparkly her hair is, the red of her eyes, that she's the softest, best hugger in Golden Grove, how pretty she is but the MC never has dialogue that goes out of their way noting her body size as anything but positive

I'm not gonna act like I'm the one being represented here because I'm not. I've never been bigger than a medium but there definitely needs to be an uptick in games where people with larger bodies are seen as love interests without an asterisk requirement they have to lose weight at some point

As you can see, her name is Mayke Hayes and she's tamarack route (and my main mc)

She came to Golden Grove after moving from India (Mahrashtra specifically) and is probably kind of confused why no one looks South Asian here.

Prior to that, she often moved places with her mum for the latters work, causing her to realize fast that she wouldn't really have an impact on anyone she met. This backstabbed her when she moved to Golden grove tho 😭😭😭😭

Her only real hobby is art at this age, she gets into more stuff later tho I promise. Technically she also learns the piano but its more of a chore for her really.

Half Indian and Indonesian, same with her mom.

Best friends and crushes with Tammy! Love at first sight, she's lowkey down bad but doesn't realize it rn. Matches her energy except when it comes to the forest (shes really scared of it lmao)

Friends to Crushes with Qiu! Admires them a LOT, basically seeing them as an idol. Tan Asian solidarity.

As for the boys club, she thinks Darren was mean, but quickly warms up to her. As for Baxter, she's put off by his weirdness but eventually learns to accept it, though not as close as Mayke with Darren.

Does pretty well in school all things considered, and has a lot of casual friends despite how clueless she is sometimes.

Speaking of which, she's REALLY clumsy, and also gets lost sometimes.

😭 What makes them cry? Do they cry easily?

For Mayke, as a kid she wasn't a crybaby, but would sometimes cry whenever she embarrassed herself or got hurt because of her clumsiness! Sometimes she just cries because she remembers something sad. As she got older, Mickey does everything in her power to NOT cry, especially in front of other people. She's heavily embarrassed by it and feels like she's a five year old throwing a tantrum whenever she does it.

And for Hackmatack, he doesn't really cry much, especially in step 1. As he gets older and his fights with his family become more frequent, he cries after their arguments, though it's more like a few tears rolling down his cheeks than full-on sobbing like Mayke does.

🍰 Favorite cake flavor? Are they specific about types of cakes?

For Mayke, she loves chocolate cake and cheesecakes (especially blueberry cheesecake!). While she's generally fine with whatever, she really hates cakes where theres like nuts and stuff instead (exception with chocolate chips and berry preserves). Other than that she doesn't really like excess frosting, and prefers fondant and chocolate shards.

I'm not sure for Hackmatack, but he probably has similar taste in cake as Tamarack. I think he'd like the more basic flavors like chocolate and vanilla than say, lavender. He'd be into fruity flavors imo.

📷 Do they enjoy having their picture taken? what's their go-to pose? do they like taking photos? what do they take photos of?

Mayke doesn't mind being in photos but sometimes feels uncomfortable if someone is taking it (unless its like, for school or for her friends). She's pretty average at taking photos, her camera roll would mostly consist of her hanging out with her friends.

Has a notebook gifted to her by Tamarack, and uses it for her thoughts and reminders.

Her fingerless gloves are actually Qiu's old gloves! Hackmatack was low-key jealous when Qiu gifted them to her.

Goes by Mickey to the town since her real name is apparently far too hard to pronounce.

Covers her pink eye at school, since it stands out a lot compared to the rest of her features.

Pretty good baker, but tends to ignore half of the steps and use multiple substitutes... still makes good food though!

Still not the same age as Qiu and Tamarack during when the steps take place, she was born in November.

Only does ballet because of Qiu, pretty subpar at it tbh.

Gets easily startled and frightened, tends to fall for a lot of pranks.

Only accepts physical touch from her mom and Tamarack, hates it from other people.

Dislikes perfume, think it's too strong and would rather smell like ginger and garlic paste. She likes the smell of garlic paste tbh.

Has a lot of bruises on her hands and knees from her clumsiness, some cuts too. Doesn't take care of them unless someone insists too (AKA Tamarack, she worries a lot about them lol). Presses on them when she's bored.

Has an overbite, doesn't care for it and refuses to get braces, much to the detriment of her mom.

Frequently stays up late in her teen years, and has trouble sleeping. May or may not have snuck out sometimes to go hang out at the park.
