Our first project for Advertising is to promote an event for a museum in Seattle.  I’m working on an event for the Seattle Asian Art Museum, which is lucky because not only does it happen to be my favorite museum in Seattle, but it also happens that they are doing a huge remodel that they raising funds for.  It’s the perfect opportunity to design an philanthropic event.

The remodel is meant to restore the building, especially by enhancing climate controls to better preserve and store pieces in the collection.   There is also an addition as part of the remodel, to serve as a gallery and and meeting space.

My concept for the proposed event is to raise the “Final 500″, The last $500,000 of their donation goal.  I will be designing advertisements and promotions for a series of performances at Benaroya Hall where donations received from ticket sales will help the SAM reach the last of their fund raising goal.  

Since the event focuses on the revitalization of the original building, I’d like to highlight architecture, and emphasize the relationship of classic art deco with it’s Asian influences.
