Between 1825 and 1850, some guy took a hatchet to this pine beam in order to prep the surface for plaster when building a house. About 4 months ago, I found this board on the side of the road and yesterday I sanded down that dude's hatchet marks in order to prep it for furniture. Thanks to Daniel Chasse from the historical preservation program at Edgecombe Community College in Tarboro, NC for the appraisal.
