“You gon’ leave me, ain’t you?” You rolled your eyes. This was Erik’s way of picking a fight when he really just wanted to get his emotions out, on whatever topic was present.

“Don’t fucking roll your eyes at me. Answer my question!” You looked at him.

“What the fuck are you talking about?” This cam

“Don’t try an play that shit with me? Who the fuck is he? You been coming around less and less. Not returning my calls or texts. So who is he?”

A dry laugh was all you responded with. You were trying to stay calm. Boy did Erik know how to get you mad. ‘Is he being serious right now’ you thought. You decided not to raise your voice. That’s not where you wanted this discussion to go.

“Lemme ask you something, do you really believe there’s someone else?” You stared at him.

“It must be if you won’t talk to me! You cheating on me?” He moved closer to you.

“Erik-“

“Erik what?! Just tell me straight up. I’m tired of beating around the bush.” You sighed and tried to hold the tears back. You were successful. You took a moment to respond.

“Do you actually want to be in this relationship, Erik? Do you? Because I can’t tell.”

“What the fuck are you talking about?” He look confused but that was bullshit.

“You know what I’m fucking talking about! Erik, I’m getting tired of this. I am. And if something doesn’t change…I’m leaving.”

That got him to listen. You continued. “Erik, if we’re going to do this then let’s do this. No more bullshit. You’re not a little boy, so stop acting like it.”

“Baby-“

“No. Listen to me.” You were in tears now. He dropped to his knees in front of you.

“What do you want me to do, Erik?”

“Baby, don’t leave me. You the only that stuck beside me through everything. Why you wanna leave me now?” This was a rare side of Erik.

“Erik, this relationship is one sided and it’s been for awhile.” More tears came down. Erik pulled you off of the chair and onto the floor, in between his legs. He was leaning against the wall and you tucked into his side.

“I been pushing you away. I’m sorry, baby. You know all of the shit I’ve been dealing with. Baby, please don’t leave me. Please don’t leave me.”

Please don’t leave me, baby.

He repeated that over and over again. You felt his tears wet your neck due to his face being in the crook of it. His arms wrapped tighter around you. He started to lean back and forth. He was full on bawling now. The sobs shook his body. You only saw him break down a few times. It was rare.

“Erik, baby look at me.” You straightened up and took his face in your hands and made him look at you.

“We’re going to get through this. You have to put in the effort though. Don’t take your anger out on me because I’m here for you.” He nodded his head.

“I hear you, Y/n. Baby, you know I ain’t mean to make you feel that way.” He gripped your face and brought his lips to yours. Warmth filled you and you wrapped your arms around his torso. You pulled away and rested your forehead against his.

“I’m sorry, baby. I mean it.” He gripped you tighter.

“I know Erik, I know.” You leaned into his embrace. Everything’s finally calm. You listened to Erik’s heartbeat. It was steady now. It was steady and soothing.

Steady and soothing.
