Untitled, Mortar and plaster, 8.5 in. x 9in. x 19 ½ in.
These Confederate monuments are not forgotten relics from a dark time. Still today many support what the confederacy stood for. These same people, who are in positions of power, are actively fighting to keep these monuments erected and displayed in public. I attempt to highlight this ongoing sympathy for the confederacy.
Untitled, print paper and plaster, 2 in. x 36 in. x 24 in.
In this piece I map key confederate monuments that are still standing by official government buildings. In this case courthouses, which should be the last places to champion treachery.
“Origin of Species”, Mortar and book, 2 in. x 19 ½ in. x 19 ½ in.
Schools in the south of the United States are problematic. Teachers are censoring scientific theories that contradict creationism. The big bang and evolution among them. Meanwhile, biblical events such as noah’s ark are being taught as factual events. I attempt to bring attention to this backwards attitude.
Untitled
This piece explores our relationship and exposure to sculptures within campus. I let each sculpture lead me to the next and the next after that. Following these sculptures forms an unseen network.

Untitled, cardboard, aluminum foil, 3/8 in. x 36 in. x 36 in.
If one were asked to identify which species of flora or fauna is out of place within the local landscape, can one easily list them. How many truly know what the natural landscape is supposed to look like. How is the landscape corrupted by invasive species? The clarity of what the natural landscape is, is obscured.
Untitled, wood, ribbon, plastic bag, rice, gesso, and brown paper 43 in. x 32 in. x 40 in
Wind is an invisible force. One only see wind through the objects it affects. This piece explores the movement and direction of the wind by using the wind to leave its own marks with gesso as a medium.
Untitled, wood, screws, Styrofoam, 17 ½ in x 19 ½ in x 36 ¼ in
With minimal transformation of the prop the object is made unuseable. The exact space that would be occupied in its designed purpose, is filled to make it unreachable. Through inaccessibility, the prop is robbed of purpose.
Untitled, Concrete form tube (cardboard), brown paper, and skewer sticks, 27 ¾ in. x 27 ¾ in. x 99 in
In this piece I am interested in exploring the possibility of construction or man-made materials provoking the same instinctive reaction within us as the defenses found in plants naturally. Plants instill in us a reflexive reaction when suddenly confronted with thorns or spines. This is an attempt in replicating the same primeval reaction to those plants through an object.
Untitled, wood, nails, clothes (fabric), 4 in. x 48 in. x 72 in
This piece is a self portrait. It is not just a direct self-portrait but, a representation of my demographic through signifiers like a sketch book or a backpack. The objects are inside of the clothing which acts like a silhouette.

Untitled, clothes
Accessible or convenient clothing is often made up of synthetic materials that stick around for far too long. These items have a negative impact on nature. While this exact scenario is unlikely to happen, I wanted to juxtapose these two things to illustrate a sense of permanence these synthetic materials represent and their effect on nature.
This piece is representing possible outcomes of injury due to safety negligence or carelessness.
Automobile
Untitled
For this piece the intent was to explore the automobile through a primitive frame. The Automobile functions as a shelter which is a fundamental primeval desire. In this case it is a shelter from the rain. The rain conjures the primitive desire to seek shelter which is still satisfied in this modern machinery.
