Winter story including @eri-talks. The Finnish version is below the cut if you prefer reading in that language. Yes, I wrote this twice. đ And don't let me get started on how much I struggled writing both Yuma and Shu in Finnish. Ja anteeksi emakosta. đł
Snow crunched under two pairs of shoes, and giggles bounced off the trees in the park, as the frost pinched Yurikoâs cheeks in just the right way to make her feel refreshed and drowsy at the same time. She clapped her mittens together and popped into the air as Eri placed the last of the nandina leaves as ears and the red berries as eyes for the entire family of bunnies the young women had conjured from the pristine snow of the park. Perfect.
"Oh my gosh! They turned out much cuter than I imagined!" Yuriko's laughter rang even in her own ears.
Eri flashed Yuriko a grin and fixed her hat with her blonde curls, the length of which Yuriko had always envied. "Tell me about it! Bunnies are the best!"
Yuriko nodded but soon tilted her head to the side, staring at the bunnies bathing in the fading sunlight that peeked behind the trees. A whiff slowly swept the powdery snow against her face, waving the ends of curls trapped under a light blue beanie. But the cold didn't bother Yuriko. She had always loved winter, and now it felt an even more wonderful season to enjoy with her new family and friends.
For example, by making tons of snow bunnies in the park. Actually, it would have been better to fill the garden of the manor with them, but on the other hand, it was relaxing to do it alone without watchful eyes and constant warnings about where you could, and especially where you couldn't step on the snow-covered ground. And Yuma would probably have had an opinion about populating the garden with bunnies, even if they were just snow creatures.
"Just think if we could bring all these to life." Eri poked Yuriko in the side and winked.
"Umh?" Yuriko took a deep breath. There it was again. The peculiar scent that always hovered around Eri. A smell that Yuriko couldn't connect to anyone - or anything - else.
"Just kidding." Eri laughed, but Yuriko took a step closer and stared at her friend from head to toe as if trying to see right into her insides.
"Considering all the other things that are possible..." Yuriko left the end of the sentence hanging in the air and crouched down. She scooped up a handful of snow and popped it into the air towards Eri, who shrieked and jumped backward.
"Yuriko!"
Eri clearly had no intention of losing to Yuriko, and in the next instant had already gathered her mittens full of snow, which she hurled in Yuriko's direction so that her hat was about to swing down from the Kitsuneâs curls.
"Eri! No, don't! Oh my gosh!" Yuriko darted into the snow, collecting a lapful of it, the heavy dampness poking through her coat and mittens, but right now it didnât matter. Instead, Eri would get the snowwash of a lifetime. Yuriko managed to haul herself upright and dashed towards her friend with her load of white powder. "Here it comes!"
Eri backed down, feigning terror as if she were in genuine danger. Yuriko didn't stop, but drove her friend towards the shelter of the trees, hiding from the eyes of any potential witnesses. Not that there was much of anyone in the park at this time of the evening now that the packing snow had started to freeze again and the lamps were lit as the last reflection of the sun faded from the horizon.
Just as Yuriko was about to dust her entire load of snow directly on Eri's face, however, the blonde woman staggered and swung out of Yurikoâs sight.
"Damn!" The curse emerged from the grove of trees, where Eri had floated completely without Yuriko's help.
"Bothersome..." a low, raspy voice reached Yuriko's ears, making her gasp. Her gaze swept a pair of feet under Eri's kneecaps as she turned her head in the direction of the sound. The icy blue jewels bored straight into her insides.
"Umh⊠Iâm sorryâŠ." Yuriko's heart began pounding against her chest. A bare hand brushed aside the honey-colored strands hanging over the young manâs eyes. While Yuriko was still trying to comprehend that she was indeed staring at the eldest Sakamaki, he pressed his free hand against the snow and pushed himself upright. Why on earth would anyone lie in their home clothes on a deserted hill as if they were taking a nap on a summer's day?
"Do you think that's enough compensation for the noise and inconvenience caused by you two? You'd think Ruki would train his little plaything better..."
"What the hell?" Eri was up much faster than the Vampire could get himself seated. "Yuriko apologized! How dare you call her that?"
"Eri..." Yuriko scrambled closer to her friend as an icy glare hit the blonde and a lopsided grin crept across Sakamaki's face.
"Haa... can you be any more annoying?"
Watching Yuriko, the Vampire finally managed to pull himself on his feet. As tall as Ruki. At least. Yuriko had never thought of that before. Then again, was that any wonder? How many times had she seen Sakamaki Shu standing up? Usually, that laze trickled down his desk with his eyes closed.
Right now, Yuriko would have given almost anything if the situation was the same as it was at school.
"Annoying?" Eri grumbled from behind Yuriko, trying to push past her. "What's annoying is men who think they can say anything to women."
Yuriko waved her hand in front of Eri before she could get any further. "Eri... don't..."
"Yuriko, did you even hear what the guy said?"
Yuriko nodded but immediately realized that Eri probably couldn't see her gesture while standing behind her back. "Mmm... yeah, but sometimes you shouldn't... so... well... I mean..." Yuriko swallowed and bowed to Sakamaki in the darkening forest, sadly aware that there were no human sounds from nearby. "We're sorry, Shu-san."
Eri scowled. "The hell we are..."
Sakamaki leaned in closer but Yuriko refused to budge. Even if the Vampire had never seemed threatening at school, Yuriko had learned by now not to be fooled by such imagination. And where Eri might get herself killed if Sakamaki got seriously pissed off, Yuriko instead had her secret weapon... assuming she managed to use it in time.
Sakamaki sniffed the air. "Hmm...? Interesting..."
Step. Another.
The distance was too short for Yuriko's liking. She yanked the mittens from her hands, letting them fall to the ground, and lifted both palms between herself and Sakamaki. "Not... not... not one step, Shu-san!"
"Ruki really has lost his grip..." Sakamaki yawned, ignoring the command. "Well... heâs going to learn what happens when you let livestock run free..."
Yuriko stepped back and stuffed herself right into Eri's chest. Maybe Eri muttered something, maybe Yuriko was just imagining things. She couldn't say for sure, as she tried to reach for the familiar tickling with her fingertips. A tickling that should have sparked... but the fire inside her didn't respond. Instead, a chilling terror began to tighten its long-nailed fingers under her skin, digging all the way to her marrow.
"Yuriko... maybe we should..." Eri laid a hand on Yuriko's shoulder.
"Yeah..." Yuriko looked around. Eri was absolutely right, but the Kitsune had no illusions that they would have been able to run away from the ancient Vampire without help. But if she could just get even a splash of flame to ignite at her fingertips... She tensed every muscle in her body as she flexed her fingers. Come on! Just a little flicker, okay?
But no. Not even a hint of fire. Instead, Yurikoâs fingertips began to shudder as the temperature dropped lower and lower.
"Eri..." Yuriko whispered. "On the third..." Swallowing, Yuriko pressed her fingers against her palms. "One... two... RUN!"
Yuriko had time to turn and see Eri plunge into the forest. And at the exact same moment, out of the corner of her eye, she saw Sakamaki disappear. Eri's scream cut through the air as she collided with the Vampire who had teleported directly in front of her. Yuriko couldn't help but gasp as the Vampire crouched towards the fallen young woman.
"Quite a moan... Can't say I don't like it." Sakamaki ripped Eri into a half-upright position, not minding a least about her snarls and screams. "We'll see which one of you moans lewder when you make up for the disturbance you caused..."
"No! NO!" Yuriko raised her arms and lunged towards Sakamaki, but at that very moment, something wrapped tightly around her waist and jerked her backward. She tried to fight against it, but the grip was like iron.
"Damn ya neet, get yer hands off my sow!" A giant flash swept past Yuriko, slamming into Sakamaki, who crashed into the tree so that the snow rained right in from the neckline of Yuriko's jacket. Only seconds later, an icy slither of water slid down her spine.
As Yuriko stared, Yuma grabbed Eri from the snow and swung the still dazed woman, almost his own height, over his shoulder.
"Yuriko..." a chilling whisper swam in from Kitsune's ear, and it was only at that moment that she realized that a familiar and safe scent surrounded her. Hands turned around her, enveloping her in an embrace she couldnât have meandered away from even if she had wanted. "Do not go against any of the Sakamaki ever again. Do you understand?"
Eyes watering, Yuriko nodded as the potential horror of the situation began to sink into her consciousness. Without question, Ruki slipped a hand under the young woman's kneecaps and lifted her into his arms. The kiss on the cheek was only a cold, brief brush, but warmed Yuriko's insides in an instant.
Holding Yuriko in his arms, Ruki stepped forward. If his gaze could have thrown daggers, Sakamaki would have been impaled on the tree trunk against which he still lay.
"Sakamaki Shu." Ruki's voice was flat and emotionless. "If I were you, I would focus on Eve. Yuriko is mine, and Eri belongs to Yuma. Never again even touch what is ours."
To Yuriko's surprise, Sakamaki merely laughed. "Always so stiff, Ruki... If you don't want to lose what's yours, you should keep your foxes and bunnies chained in the future." The Vampire closed his eyes and trickled down. "Not that they don't like that very thing..."
"Whatta? What fuckinâ bunnies?!" Yuma's roar almost made Eri jump on his shoulder. The blonde strands danced to freedom as her hat floated in the snow.
"Yuma." Ruki adjusted Yuriko's position in his arms. "Let's go."
Yuma muttered but agreed to follow Ruki out of the cover of the trees. Yuriko wrapped her arms around Ruki's neck and couldn't help but notice the way he glanced first at Sakamaki, then at Eri, who was squirming on Yuma's shoulder, his eyebrows furrowed. "Foxes and bunnies..." Ruki's words were a mumble but still reached Yuriko's ears.
Surprisingly, Eri also turned around and tried to peek at Ruki in Yuma's grip. "That bully must have meant those snow bunnies we made with Yuriko." Eri's speech was pinched as if her lungs were in a squeeze.
âHe better fuckinâ keep his hands off my soâ... bunny girl." Yuma waved Eri over his shoulder, making the woman whine even more. "I'm gonna shred that neet into pieces if I ever see him near ya again."

BOTS AND SCAM COMMENTS ON AO3
WHAT THEY ARE AND HOW TO SPOT THEM
okay, I thought I should make this post since there has been an influx of scammers plaguing AO3 comments section and people are falling victims to them. so here it is;
WHAT THEY ARE
so far, there are three main types of these scam bots
bots that tell you AO3 is deleting works, and that you should delete the works yourself because your entire account will be affected if your works get deleted by AO3
bots that tell you your works are terrible
bots that tell you they want to draw comic panels from your works
ALL OF THESE ARE SCAM WITH MALICE INTENTIONS
bots that tell you AO3 is deleting works, and that you should delete the works yourself because your entire account will be affected if your works get deleted by AO3 are just trying to get you to delete your works, most certainly because they want to steal and/or use your works to train their AI and, once you delete your works, it becomes extremely difficult, almost impossible for you to claim ownership of your works when the original works have been deleted. AO3 IS NOT DELETING ANY WORKS.
bots that tell you your works are terrible are also just trying to get you to delete your works, most certainly because they want to steal and/or use your works to train their AI and, once you delete your works, it becomes extremely difficult, almost impossible for you to claim ownership of your works when the original works have been deleted.
bots that tell you they want to draw comic panels from your works are trying to hack your password, personal data and credit card information (they will say they see potentials in your work and are interested in drawing comic panels from it, and then they will ask you to discuss this with them on discord where you will have to pay/commission them for the âcomicsâ you will never get, but you will get your password hacked, personal data and credit card information breached and stolen instead, do not fall for them).
HOW TO SPOT THEM
what all these 3 types of bots have in common is that;
most of them (keyword, most, not all) are guest users or empty accounts that have just been recently created.
their comments are all the same copied and pasted scripts that they mass leave on lots of authorsâ works at random.
their comments are all vague, in the sense that there will be no mention of any specific charactersâ names, no mention of any specific scenes or events from your works (granted, they need to be vague because they are bots, they never actually read your works, and they have to be able to use the same comments on other writersâ works too).
EDIT: Iâve been told they got âsmarterâ and are now mentioning characters by names and also specific scenes from the story. Most definitely because they ran your fic through AI and let AI write comments for them. So basically, if a comment, from someone you donât know, ends in something along the lines of âIâd like to draw a comic panel about thisâ, âcan we chat on discord (or anywhere outside of ao3)â or anything thatâd require your email or other personal information, always assume that itâs 90% a scam.
report them for spam then delete their comments when/if you get them.
please spread this if you can. us writers gotta look out for each other. stay safe, everybody âĄ
EDIT (Dec 10, 2025): NEW TYPE OF BOTS WHO THREATEN PEOPLE WITH LEGAL ACTIONS
EDIT (Dec 15, 2025): BOTS IMPERSONATING LEGIT USERS, WITH REGISTERED ACCOUNTS, BY USING THESE LEGIT USERSâ AO3 NAMES AS THEIR GUEST-USER NAMES IN THEIR GUEST COMMENTS

A white glow penetrated the windows of the Mukami manor, causing Yuuma to squint his brown eyes. The weather had gotten colder each passing day, so it was only a matter of time before the cold menace from the sky would come to bother his plants.Â
His absentminded saunter past the window halted with a double-take towards the garden grounds. A hunched figure was loitering next to his tomatoes, hands busy doing something. Hot anger flared in Yuuma's gut and the window frame cracked under his grip. Barely tied shoelaces whipped the air as he stormed outside in a flash.
âThe fuck are ya doing in my garden?!âÂ

âOi, what'cha hunching in the shadows?â
Eri halted scribbling and pulled her glued gaze from the sketchbook. Summer heat glistened on her forehead, and the paper under her hand had warped from the moisture.Â
Artistâs worst enemy⊠Yuuma recalled her saying a few weeks ago. Whatever that meant, it clearly bothered the blonde woman. She fanned the sketchbook to her face twice, pages fluttering, making her blonde, curled-up bangs sway with the breeze.Â
âJust taking everything in, there are so many things I have never seen before!â Eriâs eyes glimmered in excitement and pushed the sketchbook unprompted closer to the towering boy.Â

Summary: There is a Summer Festival held in Eden. What will it entail?
âContent Warning: This is a Diabolik Lovers OC x Canon story. Please keep in mind, that it can and will feature dark topics and canon typical violence.â
Summer hit Kaminashi City in a humid wave of agony this year. At least thatâs how it felt for Chiyo. The last few days of school felt especially bad, with the brick walls of the academy retaining the heat painfully well. She and Shuu ended up hiding out in any corner that went below 25 degrees Celsius. It was good his skin was cold even in summer, but it did very little to help her.Â

NOTICE: As more and more fanfic writers are using generative AI for their works (you uncreative dweebs), I hereby swear on everything I hold dear that I have not and will NEVER use generative AI in ANY of my written work. Everything I post will be organically and creatively my own.
a writing competition i was going to participate in again this year has announced that they now allow AI generated content to be submitted
their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"

DL YumEri New Year 2025 - side story: Crayons in the Sky
Beta readers: @afi-mukami @ruki-mukami-dl
Inspired by âThe Extended Mukami Family Headcanons Part 3: The New Yearâs Eveâ
Excitement was palpable when a group of young people followed a trail, the nightly air filled with the bickering of the Mukami brothers. Among the brotherly chaos, curious blue-gray eyes witnessed how the oldest Mukami occasionally shared intimate touches and whispers with his beloved, Yuriko. A girl for whom Eri had a great fondness, but she had yet to earn the trust of the stormy-eyed boy.Â
Eri averted her gaze to give them privacy and focused on the trail once again. Small pebbles bounced across the gravel on each step, the moving lantern shifting their shadows. Eri resisted the urge to inspect them in more detail, but before she even noticed her eyes were back downcast to the ground.Â
âOi, stop dawdlinâ âround!â A sharp, loud voice startled her, and her inhale turned into a small squeak.
