recently saw ppl discuss whether they put their medicines in a kitchen cabinet or a bathroom cabinet and i was shocked by the fact that many ppl said kitchen cabinet. so now i need you to reblog this and say where you keep yours
gift giving fucking sucks. I really wish it wasn't a thing, it gives me endless fucking anxiety. It gives me anxiety to receive things I didn't want and didn't need. and it gives me anxiety to try to look for things to buy for other people. also, frankly, in this economy it stresses me the fuck out financially too. I can manage decently to buy myself most things I need in my daily adult life, and even some of the things I want. But then you're expected to give not only birthday presents and christmas presents to other adults but also graduation gifts, "moving in" gifts, babyshower gifts, wedding gifts, baptism gifts etc for every fucking adult in your life. as well as gifts for the kids in your family when they have birthdays, graduations etc etc.... like the financial burden of the peer pressure and social stigma of it all fucking piles up??? and all these people could honestly just buy what each wanted instead of me trying to guess what they want because they're adults. gifts are nice when it is spontaneous and uncalled for in a "I saw this and thought of you" kind of way, not when it is done out of social obligation.
When I was walking to work today a dude biked past me, told me "your hair looks great!" without even stopping he just continued biking away, I barely had time to stutter out a surprised thank you. Honestly it made my day cause it felt like such a pure way to compliment someone. He started the compliment before he even had really seen my face because he came from behind me, so he didn't know with certainty how old I was or what my face looked like. And he didn't stop or demand my attention, and the intention wasn't to hit on me or get my number or make me feel uncomfortable in any way. It felt like the intention was just to make someone's day a little brighter and that's so lovely. It really stood out to me as the perfect example of how to compliment a stranger without making it weird or about wanting something from them. Thanks strange bike dude!

I love when people ask "how did you learn this skill?" I just started, there's no secret. that's it. a vast majority of the time the only thing holding you back is your trepidation to start.
why is finding a good bra in correct size such a fucking horrible experience??? please whatever you do if you got boobs put in the time and energy to finding your correct actual size and DO NOT let the sales people in the stores help you. Figure it out on your own cause 99% of the time they WILL fit you incorrectly.

but also don't stop there, try to really deep dive into what SHAPE works for you as well. It feels like such a jungle but the abrathatfits reddit has been really helpful for me. I used that calculator linked above when I was younger and was pointed in the right direction but over the years I went astray again because I let the sales people in the stores help me and somehow let them convince me once again into a bigger band size than I need. You know... so they can fit you into a smaller cup because their range in the store doesn't go any higher than E and they want you to buy something. I'm finally getting around to figure out what my size actually is now and I'm realizing the calculator has always been more or less correct for me it's just that the model of bra/the shape of the bra also matters SO MUCH.

WAIT HOLD ON I cannot fucking believe when I was like four years old my parents were cajoling me to walk with the family and trying to get me to keep up even though I kept insisting that I was "tired" until they took me to a doctor and found out my LUNGS DIDN'T WORK. how insane that we live in a world where reasonably loving parents think their FOUR YEAR OLD is trying to be LAZY. like they were mortified to be clear. adults are just so trained to ignore children's complaints as untrustworthy, kids just need discipline, they can't possibly speak for themselves. what the fuuuuck.
YOU ARE NOT IMMUNE BTW you should always be trying to take children seriously, especially very little ones but definitely all of them. the most disempowered class basically legally defined as property and most people are like "yeah that's good actually I hate when they Loiter lol they're stupid and loud and i actually think children should stop existing. restrict their personhood more actually"

i love small self care moments like using a nice scented oil on my skin or moisturizing or splurging on a shower gel that smelled particularly nice even though it's a bit unnecessary... because as someone who has struggled with self harm in the past (and still has to resist the impulse to do it when i'm in emotional distress), those small little moments of touching my body in a slow and deliberately calming and gentle way, it feels like reconnecting with my body and it feels like an apology. it feels nice to use my hands on my skin for gentle touch instead of slapping and hitting myself.
