I participated in @shujiwakahisa's April OC Art Quest! I had so much fun drawing this one and picking flowers that matched the themes of my OC's, though it did take me most of April to draw it. ^^;
Flower Meanings (Starting with the weasel and moving clockwise)
Kit: Indian Paintbrush: passion, creativity, and the courage to forge new paths. Kit seeks to break from the chains of a society that decides for each person how they can use their magic based on their social class. Determined to carve his own fate, his newly formed paths cross with the others as he seeks his true life's purpose.
Xane: Dogbane: deceit, falsehood, a poisonous plant. Xane has been told he is the hero of a fallen realm, and yet, his actions only seem to trick and hurt others. Even his magic, Mutation, seems to be a type of poison. (Also, Talon hates him.)
Talon: Common Bird's-Foot Trefoil: revenge. When Xane's actions have unforgiveable consequences to Talon's pack, she joins the others to seek out revenge justice. In doing so, she is able to see more than just the world she is used to, and experience magic she has never encountered before.
Korwin: Angel's Trumpet: spiritual awakening, transformation, and rebirth, the most toxic of ornamental plants. Korwin's history has driven him to wear a metaphorical mask and follow strictly to the rules given to him as a guardian of magic. Doing so is nearly impossible, however, when Avery suddenly makes him question what exactly is the "right" way to use magic. Also, Korwin's favorite flower!
Avery: Dandelion: hope, strength, transformation, a weed. Just a Stray without a family, Avery is desperate to use magic, any kind of magic, no matter what the rules say. When an opportunity arises, the consequences of Avery's life-changing decision ripple across all six realms.
Landon: Beach Morning Glory: love, mortality, the fleeting nature of life, with seeds that have hallucinogenic properties. A fishing boy from the seaside turned guardian of magic, Landon wears his heart on his sleeve and cares dearly for his loved ones. His Illusion magic is used more as "healing", covering wounds in a layer of Shadows magic to relieve the pain. His own pain, however, isn't so easily concealed.
