partnership has never worked out for suzy- she didn’t seem to have that many friends, as she was too reserved and lawful, spring didn’t even have a good relationship with her sisters, as they always rebelled against her motherly words of advice. luckily, the west wind seemed to be opposite of that. there was no room for disagreeing with them, therefore, they got along well and suzy enjoyed his company. “i have to agree on that one. tell me your secrets, how do you do that?” she giggled bouncing in one place lightly. “also, do you spray perfume wherever you go just so people know that you’re coming, like she did?” spring wondered, sniffing the air around in a ridiculous matter. sometimes she acted like a child on christmas morning. “really.. you’ve seem to have matured a bit.” observing him closely, her eyes caught how his features became sharper. “huh? why?” his question wiped the naif smile off her face. “i’m not sure, i don’t usually keep track of my eating habits.” a truthful answer left her lips, her mind working on reproducing memories of the past week.
“defend yourself all you want, it’s not going to make the expression less weird,” she frowned a little. “but your right. i don’t understand why people feel the need to turn almost every word into and abbreviation or replace words with different ones, giving them a new meaning.” fingers snapping a couple of times, her eyes widened as she remembered a recent occurrence. “a young woman came into my store a couple of days ago, requesting a bouquet of orange roses. when i gave it to her, she told me i always ‘slay’ my bouquets.” her voice had the tone like in movie trailers - exaggerated and sublime, as she placed a hand on her chest. “i almost got a heart attack, thinking i that i slew my flowers.” she complained, letting out a long breath. it was a stressful day until she asked her part timer about the word usage. he looked at her weirdly, but it wasn’t like she could have asked anyone else.
a obnoxious whine left her lips. “don’t mom me, you know i’m right.. and yes, a part timer,” she laughed silently at his reaction, shaking her head. “are you planning on pulling something on him? i don’t mind if you do, but just let me know. he’s, i believe, twenty six and not very graceful, so i need to be prepared for the damage. he already managed to make a whole shelf of vases fall oh him,” suzy wasn’t annoyed. if anything, she was dumbfounded at the man. “good, then i’ll keep sending you flowers. don’t keep any flights away from me,” her chin bobbed towards him in an accusing manner. it contrasted with the mellow grin on her face, seeing the way jeonhgan treated her bouquet. “oh please, you don’t need to apologize to me. you know how my relationship with them is. my sisters are a nuisance. they probably throw all the work on your brothers, anyway. “ she murmured, finally spotting a taxi and hopping in without much thought. when he joined her, she looked over at him. “do you want to go to your place and get some rest? you’re probably tired.” usually they went straight to her flower shop to prepare. but suzy couldn’t help but worry about him.
“ beats me, i guess it’s safe to say the genes are behind the reason. “ jeonghan jested. “ fortunately for me i hogged my brothers of all the good genes, what was left was ones inclined to chaos & shenanigans. and no, i don’t spray perfume wherever i go — even as a flight attendant, that is just a waste of well-earned money. “ hundreds of years jeonghan has existed with mortals yet he always found their wage system insufficient. he could’ve gotten himself a raise if he decided to work as a pilot instead of being part of the cabin crew; but he knew he wouldn’t be as content with his life as he was right now. desiring for more would inevitably lure him into downfall, he always kept that in mind. it was always better to lie low. “ really now, after all this time, do you still view me as a kid? “ an easy laugh erupted. “ alright. that might be contradictory to what i’ve been thinking, but i believe you. “
a look of indifference grazed his features for a while as it later turned into curiosity. the word was only one of the odd things mortals add to their vocabulary nowadays. “ bonkers. what does that mean, slay? “ as much as he was acting in distaste, before he’d know it, jeonghan might be using the word out of context just because it appeals to be used. he would’ve given the other a judgmental gaze if one were to tell him he’s “slaying” when he’s not. and so of course he understood where suji was coming from, that would simply just be weird to hear. “ i want to try and blend in as much as i can but these mortals never run out of things to surprise me day to day.. somehow i still feel archaic. “ he smiled.
“ no funny business. “ jeonghan already knew how nobody could actually resist it when suji’s asking for a favor, or for basically anything. that’s why he could only guess as to why the part-timer took on the position. he wasn’t plotting anything fishy now, was he? he could only hope he’d rather not commit that mistake. suji alone was more dangerous than him & all his guardian brothers combined. “ i’m way too old for that; i’m just going to ask him a few questions as to why he decided to take on the job--- out of all the jobs in the street & in the entire city. aha. maybe he’s after you! “ his brows furrowed, tone laced with suspicion. “ well, anyways, let’s just hope he’s not too stupid to try anything. “ jeonghan put great trust in suji and her abilities, after all. “ my brothers deserve all the work. they do nothing but cause trouble everywhere they go and i’m grateful your sisters are even helping me in trying to discipline them--- even if it seems like a hopeless case. “ as they stepped inside the cab, he nodded, “ alright, let’s do that. but just don’t expect my place is anywhere near tidy. i haven’t been there in what it feels like forever. “ jeonghan felt the need to point that out in case he was bound for disappointment later when she finds it herself.
