9.That Don’t Sound Like You FYI, Bits of this are from the song “That don’t sound like you” By Lee Brice also this was meant to be posted ages ago!, I thought I had. Enjoy! 

You hadn’t planned on calling him, but you just needed someone, anyone to talk to. A few months ago you stupidly agreed to move practically half way around the world your boyfriend, who, by the way has turned out to be a total douche bag, well when he’s not around other people that is, But when he’s in a room full of his work colleges or at some benefit and your on his arm, he’s the sweetest,kindest guy you’ve ever met, He makes you feel like the only girl in the world. 

Only one other person ever made you feel like that. He answers after the seconds ring “Y/N? That you?” He asks sleepily. “Y-yeah” you clear your throat “Yeah John, its me”  “You okay sweetheart? Its like 3AM there” You couldn’t help the smile that creeps onto your face.  “Yeah, I’m alright”  You hear shuffling and a click. “You sure? You don’t sound like you” A sigh escapes you. “I cut my hair” You blurt out “What? You always loved your hair” John says sounding surprised  “He, ah He didn’t like it” You say “So you cut it?” John questions  You nod your head and wipe at the tears that had started falling  “Y/N? Sweetheart? You still with me?” “I’m still with you” You reply sadly. 

You never should’ve left, You loved your life, Your job, Your friends, it was all pretty perfect, Then you met him and he made you so happy, you fell for his charm, you’d been together for six months when he suggested moving, he got a great job offer and wanted you to go with him, You didn’t even hesitate, You said yes immediately. And now here you are, Alone in a huge house, crying on the phone at 3AM to the only other man you could of loved, while HE is out doing got knows what or who. 

“I’m Sorry John, I shouldn’t of called, I just, I don’t have anyone here” “What did he do?” John asks anger filling his voice “He hasn’t hurt me John, well not physically anyway, Jesus, John, He just, he changed so much since coming out here, He’s mean now, I practically had to convince him to let me get a job.” You scoff “He wanted me to stay home, like like, some trophy wife!, I’m so fucking unhappy”

“Come home” John says  “I, I cant” You say

“You can, That town, that job, that guy, You can leave them behind, Sweetheart, you know you’re better than that, If you wanna come back, you can come back”

You stay silent for a beat. Thinking it over, You really had nothing here, No family, No friends, You didn’t love Him, and he sure as hell didn’t love you.

“Okay” You say “Really?” John says surprised “Thought I was gonna have to try and convince ya for a second there sweetheart” 

You can hear the smile in his voice. “I’ll see ya soon John”
