Problem Child

Excuse me,                    future company.

Making his way to the inviting cave mouth, flourished with the dim lights of the nearby town accompanied with the starlight that showered the sea shore. Tossing his Skarmory’s pokeball into the air tenderly, with a shrill shriek the bird took flight around it’s beloved trainer. Steven smiled to himself as the freedom the bird felt as it spread its metallic wings against the cold ocean wind. Beckoning the bird with a ring covered hand, the winged beast circled its way down to its trainer and without a word spoken between them, it dove its way into the cave’s mouth, using Flash to illuminate the darkness.

Making his way down the steps that arrived at the mural of the ancient pokemon of the earth, he was stopped when a low voice reached for his attention, a warning.

Turning his way towards the side of the mural where the “grunt” was lounging un-dutifully, he narrowed his thin and sharp eyebrows as he looked down at the boy who seemed a bit younger than him, a permanent scowl painting his teenage face.

"You shouldn’t really frown, it brings wrinkles to the face," Steven teased, bringing up his pointer fingers to the edges of his lips and playfully pulling them upwards into a sarcastic smile, his eye dull with boredom.

     “Oh, You’re right. Let me try something different…”

     For a minute or two Wyatt simply stared. His eyes made no motion, it was as if he'd become a statue clad with hood and scowl who'd mounted a defense against rock loving pretty boys. This display, while it gave some semblance that this underling might even care if Steven entered the cave or not. Eventually there was a sign of life, the familiar scowl began to contort into a smile. At first, it seemed unnatural and forced at first but eventually it grew beyond any doubt of it's authenticity― at least until he speaks again.
