“Oh!” Alex brightened up, then, his face finally clicking into place. “You–you do something at the tower! Okay, now it makes more sense. Yeah, I’ve almost definitely seen you there. I practically live there.”
She laughed; it was more of a temporary situation, but she did have a guest room up near her father’s quarters, and she liked to make a habit of exploring what else the tower had to offer. “Anyway, let’s definitely pretend I wasn’t talking to the elephants, because that’d be–I don’t know. Weird? Sad? Something like that.”
There was a relieved smile on Harper’s face when Alex finally figured out the mystery. It would have bugged him all day honestly. At the mention of the elephants, Harper looked out to the animals again.Â
“Well then I guess we’ll have to pretend that before I got here I wasn’t talking to the lions.”
He turned to Alex then, smiling warmly.Â
