Hello! I'm Avi, and I am multi fandom! My primary special interest is commercial aviation in general, and I'm happy you could join me at this terminal!
Most interesting to me? That’s a good question! I really like learning the history of aviation and the logistics of airports. I also like to learn the stories behind aircraft, such as political motivations (aviation is really intertwined with history, it’s quite intriguing really), the history and logistics of airlines…etc. Really it shifts depending on exactly what captivates me in the moment, so I guess I just like commercial aviation in general! I’ll tell you what doesn’t interest me; military/private aviation. I like to learn history, and battles, but for whatever reason most military planes don’t interest me! If it’s commercial aviation, I’m all ears! Military? Meh.

Dad? Pater? Are y’all here?! Ma and Pa changed back last night, so Ben gave me the all clear to come and see y’all! What the hell did that metal nuisance do to you?!
Just fused us together. Not a terrible experience, all things considered, but it did completely remove any and all inhibitions.
Wait, that’s why y’all sounded weird? I thought she had given y’all a horrible sickness! Really, I wish I was there to see your handiwork, I would’ve had so fun watching you two go. Why weren’t you just honest with me from the start? It’s not a great situation, absolutely, and I can understand mental side effects from her nonsense, but knowing would’ve been better than pulling my hair out worrying. Did you…think I wouldn’t be kind about it?
No, not at all! We know you wouldn't have been cruel about it. We didn't tell you because it wasn't worth worrying about. You had enough on your plate with helping Benny look after Ma and Pa. We told you we were fine, and we rather hoped you'd trust us by now to know we would tell you if it was serious.
Oh. I completely misinterpreted that then. Guess I haven’t gotten as good at reading people as I thought. It’s something I’ll have to keep in mind going forward. The two of you have put a lot of faith in me, haven’t you? I’m so sorry I couldn’t live up to it. I’m also sorry I didn’t trust your judgment. The disappointment is completely justified on your end. You’ve been alive centuries, for crying out loud! Skies above, I’m sorry, I can be extremely stupid sometimes.
Avi, you're not stupid. You just care a lot is all. We understand that. But you also have a tendency to spread yourself too thin, and we want to look out for you as much as you look out for us.
I take care of myself by taking care of you. By taking care of everyone. Sometimes that means making sacrifices, but I know you would do the same for me in a heartbeat. It’s only fair to give with all I can for the ones I love most. It’s how I show that I love you.

Hey there, I wanna rant a little about Coppernauts (but mostly about the characters themselves rather than just the ship), especially since today starts the @coppernauts--week and all.
(This is NOT ship hate at all, it's just my biggest issue with how the fandom portrays it rather than the ship itself.)
For a long time, I usually didn't ship characters who had very little to no interactions, which was btw the main reasons why I didn't shipped Coppernauts back when I first heard of its existence, but my opinion changed over the time. HOWEVER, over the time, I realized that there was also a very specific reason for me to not actually like it:
The way how the ship is portrayed in the fandom.
You see, one thing I noticed while seeing Coppernauts fanart is how the ship can basically be described as:
"GCBC is an asshole 100% of the time who is always in angry mode and is constantly insulting Benny 24/7 whenever he brags about spaceships or is just existing, while Benny is the clueless and brainless sunshine guy who is always annoying GCBC and likes to be insulted."
This is one of the reasons why I used to say that the ship was "flat" on the surface, not because of the trope appeal, but because that's how they're portrayed in fanart.
Now, I get that Coppernauts does have some appeals to be so popular, the main being the "opposites attract" trope and their parallels, which is definetely something to note.
However, I feel like a lotta ppl ignore what these characters even are in the first place. Now, I'll get off-topic of the ship to focus on the characters themselves.
What really pisses me off is how GCBC has a MAJOR fanbase, is one of the most beloved characters of the franchise, is one of the most remarkable characters, and YET, ppl forget that he was MANIPULATED by his boss, BLACKMAILED, EMOTIONALLY BLACKMAILED, was FORCED to do things while firmly believing he was doing the right, watched his parents get KRAGGLIZED IN FRONT OF HIM!! And when he was betrayed, he choose to change sides and decided to HELP the protagonists on their escape, thus officially starting his redemption arc.
ALSO, not to mention that Scribble Cop's creation's entire idea wasn't just to replace Good Cop where he originally existed, but also to ERASE HIS PAST SELF AND COMPLETELY DISASSOCIATE HIMSELF FROM THE SYSTEM THAT HURT HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE!!!! (Did ppl ever thought about this while watching the movie?)
You see my anger on this? How can a beloved character have a huge fanbase and yet not only his trauma is overlooked by his fans but also FORGET that he decided to change sides and reddem himself? And to make things worse, he's always getting reduced to his main visible personality trait while he's in Bad Cop, an angry cop who's always acting like an asshole to everyone.
As for Benny though, I can't say much about him since his personality is very simple, but I do get pissed whenever he's portrayed as a little femboy or a youthful twink. Like, Benny is FAR from being a young guy, because while his age is not said in the movies, is very implied that he resembles nostalgic stuff, aside from him being one of the oldest minifigures from the main gang, not only that but ppl ALSO forget that he's known as "1980-something space guy", and if I'm not mistaken, that's what Vitruvius calls him when he first shows up, which means that he FAR from being a young guy (I headcanon that 1980 was probably the year Benny was born). YET, ppl make him a femboy twink.
Lastly, when it comes to Coppernauts, THAT'S WHERE I GET PISSED THE MOST. When combining GCBC's portrayal in the fandom with Benny's femboy twink portrayal in the fandom, the result is literally "sunshine guy who is annoying grumpy guy 24/7 and gets insulted back". THIS is the reason why I thought that Coppernauts was very flat at first, not because of the movie, but because of the fandom portrayal.
I do find ironic how Coppernauts is considered "angst" when I BARELY see any Coppernauts angst art or fic out there. Actually, I think I NEVER once saw an angst Coppernauts art, at least on tumblr.
I had to rewatch the movie SO many times just to understand the TRUE reasoning for Coppernauts popularity aside from the classic "opposites attract haha". It took me a LONG time for me to understand the whole emotional plotline between GCBC and Benny, the reason why it took so long is because of how they barely interact. But I finally figured it out after a long time by noticing the characters' lore individually.
Another thing that a lotta ppl think a lot is that Coppernauts is a potential "enemies to lovers" ship. Well, let me break it to you, but Coppernauts is NOT enemies to lovers, in fact, is FAR beyond enemies to lovers. Wanna know why? Well, is because GCBC and Benny barely interacted with each other to even form some sort of rivarily, and even why they first interact, their only interaction in the entire movie is POSITIVE. Do I have to remind y'all that Benny's personality is very simple? Well, this is also another reason why coppernauts isn't enemies to lovers, because EVEN IF GCBC had any grudge against Benny, the hatred is not reciprocated because Benny doesn't even hold any grudges at all, in fact, he's quite easy to forgive if the person is genuenely trying to change, WHICH SHOULD BE THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE SHIP.
I'm not saying that Coppernauts NEEDS to be agnst in every fanart, but if it had more of it, it'd be really cool, because GCBC's trauma and terrible experience in Octan is COMPLETELY overlooked, and Benny is just portrayed as a feminated pet, so if we have a dynamic in which GCBC is actually trying to reddem and forgive himself for what he's done in the past while becoming a better person each day and Benny sees that progress and helps him instead of annoying him, then Coppernauts would really have a healthier dynamic.
Coppernauts CAN be a very interesting ship if you don't just draw or write the characters by portraying them on their surface traits. In fact, if there was more fanart about GCBC being comforted by Benny instead of insulting him 100% of the time, then I think I would really like the ship lot more. If Coppernauts is just "angry cop and sunshine spaceman" then the ship does feel very flat.
In fact, the more I talk about it, not only flat the ship feels in the fandom, but also Coppernauts accidentally becomes rather unhealthy in some aspects, I'LL GET TO MY POINT SO DON'T STOP READING. I say this because technically, if we think on an in-universe sense, Coppernauts would really be a very flat and unhealthy kind of love unhealthy, because if we're talking about the FANDOM portrayal of Coppernauts, then it's basically what I said earlier; GCBC's short-tempered and asshole personality plus Benny's annoying and boundary tresspassing. That kind of love quickly dies if we're talking on fandom coppernauts being applied to real life. For a relationship to even work in the first place, both (or more) partners should have RESPECT with each other and should also respect each other's boundaries. So when it comes to fandom coppernauts being applied to real life, then realistically speaking, GCBC would HATE to have someone constantly disturbing his peace and boundaries while showing up at work suddenly, and Benny (if he's annoying but at least has some sense) would persoally not like being insulted just because he exists.
THIS is the kind of love that would (realistically speaking) die out very quickly.
BUT, if we actually follow their canon personalities correctly instead of just using their surface traits, then the dynamic becomes REALLY interesting. At the start of the year, I thought that the ship was really flat because of the fanarts, but after finally understanding the real depth of it, I think that the most movie-close accurate interpretation of Coppernauts would probably be translated to something like this:
"After quiting Octan for once, GCBC does feel guilty about his actions in the past when he operated for President Business, so he activately tries to overcome his failures and tries to change himself each day. And Benny, the most quick to forgive people whenever they actually make some progress and is GENUENELY trying to change, would see GCBC's progress and would occasionately help him to get over his past."
And if we're talking about casual slice-of-life Coppernauts, then it'd probably be something like:
"GCBC occasionately gets annoyed by Benny's obsession with spaceships, but this doesn't become a reason for insulting, while Benny, after getting to know more about GCBC, actually respects his boundaries whenever he wants some space and room for himself."
You see what I'm talking about? If ppl actually remember for once that Benny is someone quick to forgive, and that GCBC is a character that has plenty of room to have a full redemption arc, then Coppernauts has a VERY interesting dynamic if the characters' emotional depths are explored further than just "Bad Cop-angry-mode boyfriend insults joyful spaceman boyfriend just for existing", in fact, this reads more like a pre-movie 1 coppernauts, so it is kinda flat.
The most interesting thing about a close and accurate interpretation of the characters' movie personalities is that this kind of dynamic can be read as both platonic and romantic without needing an appeal to be exclusively romantic.
THIS is the kind of Coppernauts portrayal I'd REALLY love to see being drawn or written more often by the fandom. IN FACT, this is where the opposites attract trope could shine and serve a better meaning for the ship, in which I think it could be something like: "GCBC tries to ground Benny's obsession with spaceships instead of insulting him for it, while Benny tries to help GCBC either with his redemption arc or by giving him a reason to keep changing and continuing his growth and development instead of pushing his boundaries".
Feel free to agree or disagree with this, I'm all ears to any debate or other opinions.
Thank you for reading until here and have a nice Coppernauts week! <3

I’m honestly kinda mad I was asleep when they came back, I would’ve made them all the nice food they could possibly want! It’s a miracle The Artificer even gave them an end date, being her. By the way, do Liam and Garrett know? I’ll stay to assess any lingering injuries and keep the house for y’all, but I’m really worried about my Dads. They were acting so weird when we last spoke, and they sounded sick. I want to go back and investigate.
I tried to text them but I have no idea if they've seen it yet, or if they even got it. I have no idea where they're at right now... And it's okay, they looked pretty exhausted when they got here, I'm sure they're still sleeping themselves. I can hold down the fort while you go check on your dads!
I’ll only be an hour, tops. I just need to know whatever that darn robot did to my parents wasn’t serious. Thank you Ben!
[Avi snatched her satchel from the recliner it sat in, and ran out the door. She popped a teleportation concoction, and in a plume of purple light she was gone.]

everybody: you’ve got to advocate for yourself in medical settings!
medical professionals when a patient advocates for themselves in a medical setting (x100 if that patient is a part of any minority): damn. you’re a hypochondriac crazy bitch who has every mental illness and is seeking every narcotic in existence. that’s the only reason you’d be disappointed in the care you’re receiving here. in retaliation, we will be even less helpful and less sympathetic. our jobs are hard. people are dying. we don’t have time to deal with anyone who is slightly inconvenient for us.
I know that tone! That’s the “I’m about to do something stupid tone”! Something did happen, didn’t it? She came to hurt you! I can completely understand wanting to get at her for that-I’ve wanted that for a loooooong time. But I don’t necessarily think you or Pater should be getting involved, especially considering how sick you sound right now. Do you have Covid?
Dad, you’re scaring me. I don’t like the implications of “rearranging”. If that bastard Artificer really did something to you and Pater, you don’t have to lie to me! Do you need me to come back home?
[Avi decided it would be better not to push the issue. She knew it was her Pater speaking, the voice on the other end had the exact same inflections he did. But it sounded almost exactly like her Dad’s voice had-sickly, not quite his own, but still familiar enough. She knew something had been done, and her Pater had just admitted to it, intentionally or not. Still, her concern for her Fathers didn’t settle. Avi would just have to take their word, and pray it wasn’t dire. It hurt a little, seeing how willing they were to cut her out if they thought it would be better. That hurt trickled into her voice. If they wanted to lie to her face, fine. She’ll just wear a happy mask until they decide she needs to know.]
Ok. I’ll be here, in case the both of you need me whatsoever. And for the both of your sakes, I hope you’re right. Because my curse has yet to wear off.

no but im so tired of how self-deprecation is always more accepted than self-advocacy. if i say i can't drive because im autistic i get questioned on how exactly that works and given a million suggestions on how to do it anyway and i look like im trying to be special so it's easier to just say im a loser. yeah i don't drive because im kind of a loser lmao. oh well. and people say lmao back and we move on. at worst they say "oh im sure you'll figure it out haha." but no interrogation!! being a loser is more respectable than being disabled. being a loser is something that doesn't make other people feel uncomfortable about their own biases. so no, no im not disabled. i don't struggle to keep friends and do the laundry and make quick trivial decisions and clean my room and brush my teeth because im autistic. it's because im a loser. it's my fault. it is what it is. at least im funny now. do you think im funny? please think im funny

Hey, Dad? Can you send me some more clarity serum and various vitality remedies? Preferably the kind that when put in food make it more filling and nutritious. Ben and I are try to get Ma and Pa on a feeding regiment, since there really isn’t much for them to eat here. I’m hoping that will tide them until we can get some long-term accommodations in place.
I suppose having two giant snake-creatures hanging around the area would scare off most of the wildlife... Let us know if you need any help getting your hands on more food for them, okay? I'm not sure what the economic situation is over there but I imagine meat still isn't cheap. I'll see if I can pull everyone else into a group call to brainstorm some solutions. And check your satchel! I just restocked you.
[Avi flipped open her satchel, and skimmed through all the new stock. Her Dad knew her well.]
Dad, you’re a lifesaver! All of this stuff is perfect! I wouldn’t mind if the family got together to consider the options. I haven’t looked at the prices here yet, but I know we’re going to need a lot of meat consistently from now on here.
[Avi snuck out of the Copp residence, having slept on their couch intentionally for this. She stayed up till nearly dawn making sure the place was absolutely spotless, but now she had something else in mind. Secured snuggly against her waist was her satchel, and she opened it to retrieve a bottle of green liquid. Knowing it would be too much of a tell, Avi slipped off her satchel and dropped it into one of the backyard chairs. She had spent nearly an hour dragging them back to the porch the night before. But that wasn’t important right now. She turned her attention to the far end of the property, where the river was. Avi knew what she was about to do was dangerous, but she needed to know how they were doing. She figured that if she kept the right altitude, and the invisibility concoction worked the way it should, they wouldn’t even know she was above them. She just needed to know. Wanted to see if there was a chance she could speak with them, seeing as her curse was similar to theirs. She knew their misery all too well. If it wasn’t for Liam, she’d still be enduring it. Avi mentally slapped herself. She should’ve asked Liam for some feathers before he left! Depending on his parents condition, they might’ve been able to help. Oh well. Avi braced herself. Remember, only get what you absolutely need to know, and get out. The concoction only lasts twenty minutes. Stepping out into the grass, Avi willed her body to change. Large wings sprouted out from her back. With one final look at the home, Avi took a swing of her concoction and flew towards the river. Time to greet Ma and Pa.]
[It's almost impossible to tell which one is which- they're both a dull gray color with black specks in a sort of diamond pattern along their backs. One is almost completely submerged in the water, nursing an obvious injury, with the other patrolling the river's shore for any more potential danger- or maybe just some prey to share with their hurt mate. The one on the shore stops and sniffs- they can't see Avi, but they sure can smell her, and she smells like lunch.]
[Avi positioned herself in the direction the wind blew. She had read that kestrels specialized in wind-hovering, and had figured out how to pull off the trick herself. Being above the treeline, Avi guessed she was somewhere between 45-70 feet above them currently. It wasn’t lost on her that the one shore was sniffing around in her direction. They have a sense of smell, and a keen one, at that. Looks like they retained their affection for each other, too. This made Avi a little happy-some part of them is still awake in there. She’ll have to do a flight around later, around lunchtime. Drop them some fish, or maybe a cow. She can slather it with a healing ointment, which should help the injured one. Their mate is probably gonna give them a larger portion of any food she brings. Getting closer is almost absolutely a no-no, though. If they didn’t recognize Garrett or Liam, they can’t be all there. She’s got a good sixteen minutes left on the concoction, she’ll observe until about four then fly back. She doesn’t want them to know which direction the house is, being so close.]
[The one that caught her scent flicks their tongue out, trying to pinpoint where the smell is coming from. They look up, and stretch themself further up from the ground, flicking their tongue out again. They've almost figured out where she's at. Fortunately for Avi, she is very much out of their reach. They turn away in disappointment and go back to searching for prey on the ground.]
[Avi watches with bated breath. She knows logically that they would have to be truly massive to reach her, but the sight of a giant sea serpent sniffing her out isn’t a pleasant one. Fear will only tip them off more, so she stifled it as best she could. She sighed in relief when it lowered itself down. Clearly, it thought she wouldn’t be worth the effort. So this is a safe height from them. Even if they truly weren’t themselves, Avi couldn’t help but feel a little bad for the snakes. The shore one looked so sad when it realized it couldn’t eat her-which Avi was grateful for-and knew it must be so hungry and worried for its partner. There isn’t much in the way of food for them here. She’s got twelve minutes left on her concoction. Maybe she should use those steaks she brought to feed them. Put it on a parachute and air drop it to them? She’ll wait to see if this one catches anything before committing to that idea.]
[Sadly, no luck. Most of the wildlife had taken off in terror when they came crashing through the day before. Maybe a forgetful rabbit or squirrel here and there, but not much else. And the one attempting to hunt is clearly hesitant to leave their mate to find food elsewhere.]
[Eight minutes left. Avi starts to think about how she’s going to leave; fly higher in the opposite direction of the house, then loop back around and touchdown in the front yard. Sounds decent and doable enough. She felt absolutely terrible for the both of them, seeing how hard the patrolling one was trying to find food. Avi even started to debate whether she should go to a livestock show after giving them the steaks. Buy a few older cows, have them put out, then drop ‘em over for Ma and Pa. It’ll definitely be expensive, but they’re ten years in the past, so her money is worth more here. Maybe. Avi didn’t want to do the conversion. She watched the patrolling one closely, looking intently for any possible gender markers. Thicker tail, more muscular build, anything that a regular snake species would exhibit. It’s a tall ask, she knows that, but it isn’t exactly easy to compare and contrast them right now. She probably won’t get a good look at the injured one at all. Avi made a mental note to ask Ben how the Copps hurt the nursing one so she can properly dose the steaks.]
[The injured one finally lifts their head out of the water and makes a sound to get their mate's attention. The other stops their hunt and moves to curl around them. Maybe if they're still for a while, a deer will turn up.]
[Ah! There’s the injured one! Avi tried to get a good look at the both of them and compare their heads. That’s a very good tell! Looks like the injured one wanted to cuddle with the patrolling one. They look pretty satisfied right now, so she should have time to make them food. Avi broke away from her holding position, and began to make the loop back to the house. As she ascended, she began to think of mixtures she could put into the steak to help them. She wants to see them stabilize at least somewhat, and hopefully that’ll tone down the aggression. Maybe, if she feeds them enough, she can build a terrarium to house them in and shrink them down for it. That’ll buy Copps a lot of time to kick The Artificer’s ass. But not this instant, at the least. Avi began her final approach right as the concoction wore off. She touched down on the driveway, willing her wings away when she slowed to a stop]
[Avi trilled at him playfully, tucking the satchel under her arm. She walked into the home and made her way to the kitchen, pulling out a baking sheet. The satchel was set off to the side of it, and she pulled an injector from the countertop. Finally, she opened the freezer and put the steaks into the microwave to thaw.]
Not too bad, not too great. The two of them are together, and the injured one never left the river. The other one patrolled the river bed for a time, before the injured one called them over to snuggle. From what I observed they’re really not aggressive unless feeding or threatened. Jury’s still out on their mental state. We know it’s not great cause they didn’t recognize Copps, but considering they retained their love for each other they can’t be all gone. Haven’t been able to tell who’s who just yet, though.
At least they've retained that much of themselves... So the injury doesn't look too serious? At least from what you could see of it? Liam said he had to shoot at them to get free, and that he tried only to give minor injuries just to discourage them, but it is hard to aim when you're being attacked by something that wants to eat you. I think he was as shaken from having to hurt them as he was by the fact they didn't recognize him.
No where near enough to worry about it dying, but enough that it didn’t want to move at all. From what I could see. The hurt one never left the river.
[The microwave went off, and Avi pulled out the steaks. She cut open the packaging using a knife she found on the counter, then placed the four steaks onto the baking sheet. Whipping around, she went to the sink to wash her hands, using her elbows for everything instead of her hands. When she finished, Avi reached down and opened up a cabinet, pulling out a small bowl. It was then promptly placed next to her satchel, which she popped open and plucked concoctions out of.]
The only reason I wasn’t attacked myself was because I chose to hover above the tree line. The one on the bank sniffed me out almost as soon as I got there. I just know it’s absolutely tearing him up inside. And for his parents’ sakes, I hope they don’t remember that at all. It would break their hearts. …Hey, do you think I should include the clarity serum in the healing and vitality mix? I used to down that stuff all the time before Liam gave me his feather. I doubt it’ll do much, but less aggression when we get within striking range would be nice.
[Benny watches as she works, taking a minute to think.]
It can't hurt to try, at least. If it works, then great, but if not, then at least we know. All things considered, this situation could be a lot worse. At least they managed to get themselves that far into the woods first, and at least no one is going to be out there bothering them, except us, and we know to take precautions.
You’re very right spaceman, it could be much worse. I think feeding them is going to become a necessity, though. I saw no large fauna anywhere near them, and with one injured the other isn’t going to leave. At their size, if nothing shows up they’re gonna swim up river or starve. Neither option is good. But even the steaks aren’t a long term solution. As aforementioned, they can swim through the river at any point. To keep them here and keep them safe, we have to give them a reason to stay or a place they can’t leave. So we either start looking into buying cows to satisfy them long term, or building a small enclosure that mimics the river so I can shrink ‘em down and put them in. I don’t see them making the long haul here otherwise.
[Avi curated her concoctions to Ben’s suggestion, and started to mix them one by one into the bowl. Everything she put in was edible, and beyond the herbal aroma the mixture had no tells. When she was satisfied with the brew, she stuck the injector in and started lacing the steaks with it.]
That is a good point... We weren't given any notice of how long this will last, or if it'll even wear off at all... I can take those if you're done with them. Given how clean the place is again, I don't imagine you got a lot of sleep last night.
I woke up at ten. If I remember correctly I went to bed at around four-ish. That’s a good six hours! More than I get most nights with my job. I can function on six. But I’ll need you coming with me anyway. Your anti-gravity abilities will make the drop off easy enough. You’re gonna need these.
[Avi holds out a pair of latex gloves and a shot glass full of green liquid. The invisibility concoction.]
Drink this before we take off, I’ll do the same. It’ll give us both a good twenty-five minutes. Follow me closely. When I leave, you leave. You’ll drop the meat when we get to the river, since you can make it float down to them. Then we’ll watch them feed and see if the steaks do anything. Think up some solutions while we’re at it. And if nothing else sticks: do not under any circumstances go below the tree line. I will not be able to save you if you do.
Invisibility. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to see me while the concoction is in effect. It’s so that they don’t see us. They could feel threatened and get aggressive if they know we’re watching them, so it’s better for them to be vaguely aware of us and act naturally instead of on guard. Y’know?
[Avi takes the steaks, and with a bit of looking finds a Tupperware container that can contain all four. The rectangular container looked easy enough to carry, and she opted not to place the lid on top for easier feeding. With that all done, she took the Tupperware and her own shot glass to the back porch. Wings once again sprouted from her back, and she motioned for Benny to come out with her.]
The glasses are plastic, so don’t feel bad about dropping them. Bottoms up, Ben.
[Avi chugged the liquid, and with a few great flaps she was off like a shot. For her size, she moved with shocking efficiency. Maybe it was just the nerves. Either way, they’ve got twenty-five minutes on the clock.]
[Benny knocks back his share of the potion and pushes himself off the ground. He follows after Avi, though not as quickly as she's moving since he doesn't have his jetpack on him.]
[Avi reaches the river first, again angling herself into the wind to keep stationary above the water. She began to scan the landscape below, looking for any signs of the elderly serpents. The Tupperware held up surprisingly well at the speed she was going, and would be visible to the snakes below. When Benny gets close enough, she will pass it off to him and point him in the direction of the snakes, as he can get a lot more accurate than her.]
[As much as they were killer behemoths right now, Avi thought the two of them cuddled together is the most adorable thing she’s seen all day. Easily. Avi holds out the Tupperware for Benny to take.]
Remember, they have a great sense of smell. Just drop the steaks on the shore from above the trees and you’ll be fine. I’ll alert you if they stir.
[Benny pulls the gloves on before he accepts the Tupperware and gives Avi a mock salute before slowly drifting closer to where Ma and Pa are napping. They don't seem to have noticed their company yet. One of them shifts in their sleep, and with their snout above the water, seems to have caught wind of those steaks. They lift their head fully out of the water to stare in confusion at the floating meat.
Benny takes that as his cue and drops the first steak. It's snarfed up as soon as it's in reach. The second is also summarily inhaled, then the serpent nudges their mate awake to feed them the rest. Once he's finished, Benny kicks his legs like he's swimming and floats back up above the trees to give Avi a thumbs up.]
[Avi salutes him back, scrunching up her face in a mock-serious manner. That scowl soon became serious, and Avi rubbed her eyes in frustration. The second he gets away from her, he disobeys and goes below the tree line. Does he want to die? Because what he’s doing right now is a death wish. When her eyes have been sufficiently rubbed red, Avi looked back up to see one of them lifting their head up. She gave a small whistle in Benny’s direction. At least she keeps her word. Avi watched as the first snarfed up all its food. It made her feel a bit of pride, knowing that even raw her food was good. Ease washed over her slightly when the first fed the second. So they both got an equal dose. She put some pretty potent stuff in those steaks, now was the time to watch closely for side effects. Avi reciprocated Benny’s thumbs up, and realized she had been holding her breath the whole time. That could be mostly chalked up to Benny floating his way into eating range, but either way she let out a long sigh. She really hoped that clarity serum would do something for them. If nothing else, take the edge off of whatever warped hellscape The Artificer turned their minds into.]
[It seems to be doing something, at least- the two turn their attention upward toward where they can still see the Tupperware container and start making noises. It kind of sounds like a mix of dolphin clicking and whalesong.]
[Avi is a bit surprised by the sudden development. It’s a positive development, definitely! Just a little out of the blue. For one, they looked a lot less guarded now. But another thing caught her attention, and this was far more telling. They hadn’t yet tried to sniff them out, or get aggressive. Instead, they actively engaged their environment and approached with what appeared to be curiosity. Or maybe they were asking nicely for more food. Their singing would absolutely win her over on that. Regardless, it’s a massive improvement, and proof that her concoctions could help. Next time, she’ll have to raise the dose of clarity serum. Avi herself was curious as well, and leaned over to Benny to whisper in his ear.]
This is going way better than I thought it would! Hasn’t even been five minutes and they’re already way less aggressive! Do you think we should try to gauge their mental state, seeing that they’re interested in the container?
Oh no, absolutely. A good meal makes a big difference. I’m personally not against that idea, but I don’t want you getting within striking range. They may be happy right now, but that can easily change.
Technically, we’ve got about four to seven minutes left. I kinda lost track when they started singing. I say make it a brief check; we can do more when we give them dinner since we know the steaks work.
[Avi held out a hand to take the Tupperware from him. If worse goes to worse, she can always go to her full bird form and fly him away on her back. Mostly because she’s way faster than him right now.]
[Benny hands her the Tupperware and floats back down. He perches on a branch hanging over the river, probably within their reach but only just, and observes.
They seem to have picked up on his scent, flicking their tongues in his direction, but they don't lunge. The uninjured one stretches up a little higher to try to find him. Benny tenses, ready to launch himself upward if they seem even the slightest bit peckish.]
[Avi watches intently, especially giving her attention to the uninjured one. As a precaution, she maneuvered out of the wind and got directly above Benny. If it attempts a strike, she’ll dive in and divert its attention. She allowed more feathers to sprout up from her skin, and began the process of changing into her new moon form.]
[They keep pushing upward, almost locked onto Benny's location on the branch now, seeming more curious than anything. Benny holds his breath, still tensed and ready to jump at a moment's notice, but it's taking a fair bit of effort for them to hold themself up so high. He cautiously reaches out, letting their tongue flick over the tips of his fingers. They seem a bit startled for a moment but then lean forward to press their nose to his hand. Benny smiles and gently presses back.]
That's right, we're here... We weren't going to leave you two out here alone to fend for yourselves. We'll figure out a way to fix this, okay?
[Coincidently, the moment Benny and the serpent made contact was the moment the invisibility began to wear off. The serpents could now see Benny from his perch, and a now fully transformed Avi flying above. She watched their interaction carefully, but realized that if this serpent wanted to eat Benny, he would already be in its stomach. So Avi flew down to the injured one, cooing at it to show she means no harm. Avi wasn’t dumb enough to land in case things went south, but she nodded along with what Benny was saying.]
