Summarise the safety and risk management requirements

Some safety and risk management requirements in the Sydney Opera House:

∑   Wear your Electronic Access ID Card visibly at all times. ∑  All injuries, incidents, hazards and near misses must be reported. Contact Emergency Planning and Response by dialling 2 to report any immediate injuries. Subsequent reporting for injuries, near misses and other hazards should be done via the online Incident/Hazard Form. ∑ Ensure you understand and are able to carry out the safety procedures for your area and job. Raise any safety or security issues with your manager or OH&S representative.

Discuss 5 types of hazards that may occur and explain the associated risks and control measures that could be implement

1.Becoming injury from loading/unloading and manual transport of items to Concert Hall lift and stage. The control measures that could be put in place to prevent this is to provide workers Mechanical aids and trolleys are available to assist with manual tasks and to have the weight marked on it.

2. Hearing damage can occur when doing sound check. The control measure that can be implement is that workers who are not required to be stage during sound check should leave during this time and to give notice to workers when sound check will happen.

3. Death or injury as a result of insecure/unsafe equipment rigged at height. The controls measures that can be implement are when workers are rigging equipment ensure that staff and others do not walk or operate beneath equipment not yet secure. Also only qualified riggers are meant to be doing this type of work.

4. Performers may slip trip or fall or fall off the stage. The controls measures that can be implement are that during rehearsals the performers should be made aware of the stage edges, other performers and other equipment that may on the stage. Also that there is no water or liquid is on the floor.
