Just heard a great anecdote from our prof: In the early 70s, when Chomsky was at the height of his anti-war activism, a bunch of political activists show up for a talk by Chomsky, and it turns out it’s on his paper “Remarks on Nominalization.” Some of the activists didn’t even know Chomsky was a linguist.
