I dream of a day when all comic books, pulp magazines, and periodicals can be lovingly preserved as an accessible, organized, detailed online archive without ads. Not the remastered digital versions, but high-res scans of the original pages, no matter how cheap or flawed they were, with front and back covers, ads, and letter columns. Readable for both fans and academics alike. And with the ability for users to create curated reading lists, with annotations and commentary.

Thinking about this again in the wake of yesterday’s scare, where a certain popular site for comic scans seemed to be taken down. It’s back up, and I’m glad the resource is there, but man… there has GOT to be a better way to archive comics than what we have.
