Why a Germanshepherd?
Things you may not know about this spectacular dog breed
One day while at home Kadofi my dog and I were just chilling in the house. As we were taking our daily nap I was awaken by my boy Kadofi. He started barking really loudly and I was not aware of what he was barking for. I rolled out of bed to see what was going on. He instantly bolted to the backdoor and continued to bark. So in my head I was thinking he had to use the bathroom so I opened the door and he flew out. So I then tried to go back to sleep but Kadofi continued to bark even louder and angrier. I went to go see what the big commotion was outside and as I walked outside I was shocked in what I had just seen. There it was my sister laying face flat on the ground with Kadofi beside her barking loudly. I ran as quick as I can to see what was going on while yelling as loud as I can to get my father’s attention to come out and help me. My Dad ran out and help my sister come back conscious and I called the ambulance. My sister was good, thank God. That had to be one of the most scariest moments of my life.
If it weren’t for Kadofi's intelligence lord knows what would have happen to my sister that day. Now Let me tell you about weren’t this four legged hero. Kadofi Is a full bred germanshepherd. We had bought him from a local farm in Virginia when he was just a puppy. My family had been searching for a dog that would be a great fit for our family, and that's when we came across the germanshepherd breed. The AKC Standard says the German Shepherd "has a distinct personality marked by direct and fearless, but not hostile, expression, self-confidence, and a certain aloofness that does not lend itself to immediate and indiscriminate friendships. The dog must be approachable, quietly standing its ground and showing confidence and willingness to meet overtures without itself making them." These dogs are really smart and you can train them to do almost anything. These dogs require a lot of love and attention as well. You do not want a bored germanshepherd roaming around your house. These dogs have a high drive, which means the dog is highly active both mentally and physically.
German Shepherds are so intelligent and capable. I hate to see them chosen by owners who just want a dog to hang around the house and yard. German Shepherds thrive when you find interesting things for them to do that challenge their minds. Bored German Shepherds, especially when young, can become rambunctious and destructive. Most German Shepherds have protective instincts toward strangers. They need a lot of exposure to friendly people so they learn to recognize the normal behaviors of "good guys." Then they can recognize the difference when someone really does act abnormally. Without good socialization, a German Shepherd may be suspicious of everyone.
With that being said, the German Shepherd can make a wonderful companion in the right home. This breed was used for a wide variety of different working jobs, and because of their strength, intelligence, versatility and natural obedience, German Shepherds around the world are often the preferred breed for many types of work, including but not limited to search-and-rescue, police and military roles, personal protection, dog sports and service work. I strongly suggest that if you're looking for a dog the best breed to go with is the germanshepherd breed, they won't let you down.
Personal Media Audit
1/27/15
During the day I am very active with the media. The first thing I do every morning is reach over to grab my phone off the charger and get on twitter to check out my news feed an also to see if I had received and mentions or dms (Direct messages). Once I check my twitter I then check my emails on my cell phone using the Gmail app. The Gmail app is very handy, I usually check my Gmail to see if my professors emailed me anything or if there's something going on campus , it's very useful. Time to time when I am bored at breakfast I use my phone to Snapchat my friends . What Snapchat allows you to do is take pictures and send them to your friends as messages. I use the internet 27/7. When I'm in class the internet is very helpful . I make sure if I ever need to research I make sure I go to Google one of my favorite search engine online. Google is also helpful to look up the weather as well. It would come time throughout the day where i would just get on Facebook and wish everyone I know a happy birthday on there. Facebook is a good way to stay connected with your friends and family that are across the map. My phone is in my phone all day literally but for my mother it's a different story.
Every day when my mother wakes she said the first thing she does is check all her emails for work. Since she has a coaching job she has to make sure none of her athletes emailed her. My mom also watches the Fox 5 news to see what's going on around the world, check the weather, see gas prices and also to catch up on her sport teams. As she goes to work she always tune into 93.9wkys or either 95.5wpgc. What both of those radio station got in common is good music and also good jokes. "When I'm not working out or at work I am on Facebook". For me when I'm not doing something consecutive I'm either on twitter or vine. At work my mom loves to watch Sportscenter all day and drink her coffee. When she's done with work, before she go in the house she always make sure she grabs a Washington Post newspaper and read through that.
