Cardboard robot model
On Tuesday (10/10/17) we designed our robot model with the claw being the most important piece. We chose to make a simple box and add wheels, but the wheels were too weak to hold up the robot’s body. However, the claw worked pretty much how we had it in mind. The arm was attached to a rectangle that allowed it to move up and down, while the claw itself was a simple rectangle folded in two places that can fold into a triangle, but our idea is for them to fit around the glyphs and be able to move them around. Another difficulty was trying to demonstrate we wanted the arm to look like in real life. We took two skinny pieces of cardboard and folded them like you would a fan. Then we cut halfway through the folds so the two pieces could slide into each other and move.
