Micah gave Rainbow a grin as she came in for her maintenance next week, closing the door and motioning her over to the table. "Hi, darling. How are you today?" He asked, clearly excited.

Rainbow eyed the grin on Micah's face, sensing that he'd planned something.
"I'm wonderful! Especially since something tells me you've got something for today. What is it?"
"I have sketches for your new modifications, so you can choose what you'll look like." He said. "Since the internal structure won't change much from what the outside looks like, I went ahead and made it. We can install it today, or wait until I make the preferred external part too." He explained.
"I'd be worried about the missing part messing with my functionality or structural integrity. Best to wait. Can I see the part, though?"
Her eyes sparkled with excitement, and a desire to get a good look at what would soon be part of his body.
"Yeah." Micah went over to his bag, extracting the part and coming back. It looked like a tube, no longer than 8 inches, with many touch panels and wires on the outside. The inside was made of soft, reddish pink silicone. "It's tighter around here." Micah explained, gesturing to a spot aroud three fourths of the length. "And has more sensitive touch panels. The outside will probably have a very sensitive spot too, if we're trying to be anatomical." He unscrewed the end, showing Rainbow the inside covered with more silicone. "It's detachable for uh. Cleanup."

Rainbow took a seat on the examination table without addressing or acknowledging Micah in the slightest.
He didn't turn himself off, at least? That's something.
"It's good to see you, Rainbow." Micah said with a weak smile, grabbing something from his table and coming over. He handed her a crooked drawing of her, clearly done with poor quality crayons. "Sorry, I didn't have a lot... I wanted to apologize to you for last week. I didn't go about things right, and I hurt you in the process. I'm sorry."
Rainbow's eyes quite literally lit up with sparkles when he saw the drawing, and he hugged it close to his chest.
After a few seconds of silence, Rainbow mumbled, "I guess I can... try to forgive you. The drawing is lovely."
She tucked it into the pocket on her dress for safekeeping, and finally met Micah's eyes.
"You know I keep all of the drawings I'm given? Every one. They're all over the wall in the daycare... I'll put this one up in a special place."
Micah smiled shakily, relieved to have his peace offering accepted. "That's really sweet." He said softly, messing with his hands. "I... might have something else too. An offer."
It tilted its head at the word "offer".
"Go on..."
Micah bit his lip. "If you wanted to, I could try to change your body." He gestured vaguely to Rainbow's crotch. "Add more sensory panels and shape it like you wanted." He paused. "So I could please you again."
It was pretty clear that Rainbow was confused by the sudden 180. "What made you change your mind"
Their eyes drifted down to Micah's crotch. "Not that I'm going to reject your offer or anything... It felt good. Really good."
"I missed you." Micah admitted. "It felt really good to me too, and I don't want to fight with you. And if I can help you in some way, I want to. I figured this would be a good start..."
A soft whooshing sound let Micah know that Rainbow's docked tail was wagging behind them.
"If you're sure, I'd love to... Whatever modifications you want to give me, I'll love them too. Thank you for letting me make this choice for myself."
Micah smiled faintly. "I'll sketch up a few options for you for next time, then. We can talk about them together, and then I'll get the right materials." He messed with his hands. "Are there any other modifications you'd like? Outside of that area."
"I don't think so? I mean, a moving mouth would be nice, but that'd require approval, and new code, and an extensive testing period..."
She sighed. "Just the sensory panels. That's enough."
Micah frowned. "I'd love to fashion a new mouth for you, but that might not be possible right now... I could bring it up, though. If you wanted." He offered.
"That'd be nice... Don't tell anyone I asked for it, though. They'll never let me have it, and they'll get mad at me for asking."
Rainbow stared down at their hands as they fidgeted with them. A slight sadness showed in their eyes.
"I could say I think it's a bit uncanny." Micah hummed. "Worst they can say to me is no, if I'm just making a suggestion." He sighed, looking to Rainbow wetly. "Do you think we could hug?"
"Yeah, of course, honey. C'mere," Rainbow held out her arms so Micah could rest against her chest.
"We can hug all you want, any time."
"Thank you." Micah relaxed against Rainbow's chest, sighing happily. "I really missed you, y'know." He mumbled.
"You-..." Rainbow trailed off. Her pupils began to dilate. "You did?"

Micah looked up at them affectionately, holding its gaze easily. After a moment, he smiled softly. "What'cha thinking about?"
"You. And my possible future modifications... Could you put my sensors wherever you'd touch the most? I want both of us to feel good."
Her hands trailed down Micah's sides. "I've tried to touch you, myself. My system won't let me execute the command. I'm sorry you have to do all the work."
"I can." Micah promised. "It's not your fault, darling. For the, uhm, for the modifications, I could make you a replica of genitalia other than mine. I could actually go inside you then, and it would maximize the area of the panels." He explained.

Her brows furrowed again. "Could I help pick what it looks like? What are the options?"

Micah nodded quickly, relieved to have the attention moved to something else and the crisis averted. "Uhm, yeah. Have you noticed anything odd in the past week?" He asked, grabbing his list.
"Oh! Uh, my screen bugged out a bit for 2.3 seconds during snack time. It hadn't happened since, but you might want to check that out. I can pop open my face panel if you want to examine that.
Micah nodded, pulling his gloves on. "If you'd be so kind, darling." He requested, getting the blueprint he needs.
She pressed down on both sides of her face, which made some inner mechanism unlatch, and she pulled her face open like a door.
Inside his face panel were circuits and wires, placed free-form inside his head. A fan whirred to cool the area for a few seconds until Rainbow manually turned it off to avoid slicing Micah's fingers.
"Alright, you're free to dig around in there."
"Thank you." Micah cooed, starting to gently dug around the inside of the panel. "You're a work of art, you know that?" He muttered.
"Oh, stop it, you flatter me," it said, flicking its wrist.
"It's nice that you still think I'm pretty when you're looking around at my insides. I'm told that under no circumstances can I show a child or parent behind my panels. I figured I was scary, or something."
"It's... unusual for most people, I suppose. But I love wires and mechanical parts, and you're made so intricately..."
He pulled his googles on, putting the magnifying glass circle over one of his eyes. "Mmm... yep, there it is. One of your wire coverings is slightly melted, that might've caused it. I'll put some tape over it and you'll be fine." He nodded, stepping back to get his tools.
"Is it really? I didn't notice. That's a bit concerning... You might need to examine my wires to make sure my sensory receptors are still functioning properly."
She tried to suggest it as innocently as possible, but she knew exactly what a wire examination would entail...
"It was probably just a minor spark." Micah was already getting some tape. He cut a piece off, leaning in to carefully wrap it around the exposed wire. "Hm, good idea." He agreed, very aware of what they meant. "Just your face, or should we do the whole body just in case?"
"Ah... Wh-whole body, probably. To be thorough."
Her little tail wagged behind her again, as it tended to do when she was excited.
"Alright. We haven't done that yet..." Micah nodded thoughtfully, reaching into the wires. He carefully moved them around, checking for any tears or irregularities.
Rainbow's body shivered at the touch, though her expression couldn't be seen through the open panel. His hands gripped his thighs as if to restrain himself.
"Feel anything wrong?" Micah asked softly after a little bit. "Everyhting seems fine in this area."
Micah nodded, writing down a note while Rainbow worked on opening the lower panel. Once she was done, he gave her an amused look. "You're enjoying yourself, huh?" He teased. He put his hands in the wires, carefully feeling for any issues.
Rainbow's body tensed, or at least imitated the posture. There weren't any muscles under their silicone skin, just metal.
"Well... I did tell you that my wires are sensitive... to check for damage. This is the first time we've needed to check the sensors... I'm still fairly new. Just a few years old. I was in perfect working condition."
"It sounds a little irresponsible not to do a check like that at least once a year." Micah frowned. "Though I guess they might've done these before, if you were turned down for maintenance in the past."
"Oh-" Micah pulled his hand back, inspecting the knot. "How could this even happen?" He mumbled, leaning closer. "Oh- a wire's disconnected. I'll fix this for you, but please keep still for me, okay darling?" He said softly, reaching back in to untangle the wires.
She nodded, and disconnected stimuli input from body movement temporarily. Her body went still, but still moveable, assuming Micah could lift and move heavy metal.
After a minute, Micah pulled back and nodded. "Good boy!" He praised, then paused. "Girl. Both. Good job." He finally settled on saying, nodding. "You're all done there."
Micah's expression was quite fond as he looked over Rainbow. "Do you need a little break, darling?" He offered.

Rainbow took a seat on the examination table without addressing or acknowledging Micah in the slightest.
He didn't turn himself off, at least? That's something.
"It's good to see you, Rainbow." Micah said with a weak smile, grabbing something from his table and coming over. He handed her a crooked drawing of her, clearly done with poor quality crayons. "Sorry, I didn't have a lot... I wanted to apologize to you for last week. I didn't go about things right, and I hurt you in the process. I'm sorry."
Rainbow's eyes quite literally lit up with sparkles when he saw the drawing, and he hugged it close to his chest.
After a few seconds of silence, Rainbow mumbled, "I guess I can... try to forgive you. The drawing is lovely."
She tucked it into the pocket on her dress for safekeeping, and finally met Micah's eyes.
"You know I keep all of the drawings I'm given? Every one. They're all over the wall in the daycare... I'll put this one up in a special place."
Micah smiled shakily, relieved to have his peace offering accepted. "That's really sweet." He said softly, messing with his hands. "I... might have something else too. An offer."
It tilted its head at the word "offer".

Micah bit his lip. "If you wanted to, I could try to change your body." He gestured vaguely to Rainbow's crotch. "Add more sensory panels and shape it like you wanted." He paused. "So I could please you again."

Micah frowned. "I'd love to fashion a new mouth for you, but that might not be possible right now... I could bring it up, though. If you wanted." He offered.
"That'd be nice... Don't tell anyone I asked for it, though. They'll never let me have it, and they'll get mad at me for asking."
Rainbow stared down at their hands as they fidgeted with them. A slight sadness showed in their eyes.
"I could say I think it's a bit uncanny." Micah hummed. "Worst they can say to me is no, if I'm just making a suggestion." He sighed, looking to Rainbow wetly. "Do you think we could hug?"
"Yeah, of course, honey. C'mere," Rainbow held out her arms so Micah could rest against her chest.
"We can hug all you want, any time."
"Thank you." Micah relaxed against Rainbow's chest, sighing happily. "I really missed you, y'know." He mumbled.
"You-..." Rainbow trailed off. Her pupils began to dilate. "You did?"
Her silly little tail began to wag again. She looked happy.
