A feature in the Winter 2014 issue of @MPIGNY (Meeting Professionals International Greater New York Chapter) by Frontier Project founder, Scott Wayne.
"Industries are disrupted not by technology, but by the leaders redefining what those industries are. Whether Amazon redefining "retail," Apple redefining "the phone" or Instagram redefining "the Kodak moment." The meeting industry is ripe for disruption. Now is the window to redefine "beginning and end." Warping time is the emerging skill of the meeting designer."

Ibrahim Abdul-Matin, Lead Consultant and Frontier Facilitator, talks about the 50th anniversary of the war on poverty on Arise News.
"Miami. The city they say where neon goes to die. Three friends and a camera try to capture the spirit of Art Basel. But away from the pomp and guestlists they found a place that is free for all."
The neighborhood is called Wynwood. For more images and the full story, check out BBBMAG's website.Â
In New York, abandoned subway spaces opened up for pop-up stores
Renting retail space in downtown Manhattan is often well out of the budgets of fledgling startups and small businesses needing a temporary home for their products and services. However, Storefront — a listings site that connects startups with available properties — is now collaborating with the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority to open up unused subway facilities as pop-up booths. READ MORE…
We have taken clients who are interested in the future of retail into the depths of the NYC subway to check out a few of these pop-ups. They are surprisingly creative, featuring product offerings from up and coming designers and artists. And with over 5.3 million daily riders on the NYC subway system, it's great testing ground.Â

Dover Street Market Arrives in New York
Dover Street Market, the high-fashion shopping destination based in London, has opened its doors in New York. Despite the fact that it's tucked away in Murray Hill (an area not known for its retail selection), it has drawn visitors from some of the biggest fashion brands in New York to seek design inspiration.
Picture a seven floor luxury department store, except, there are no true "departments", but rather curated selections of international designers, both established and emerging. With only a glass elevator as a means for traveling between floors, it's easy to notice the sculptures and displays tucked between clothing racks.Â
Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo describes the store as having a "no-rule, beautiful chaos feeling ... in contrast to New York itself, I wanted to design it with extreme simplicity, unsophisticated, almost primitive, and with naïve artlessness".Â
