Chapters: 1/? Fandom: The Flash (TV 2014) Rating: Explicit Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Barry Allen/Leonard Snart Additional Tags: Undercover as Married, Slow Burn, Canon Divergence, Secret Identity, Enemies to Lovers Summary:
I donât understand,â Barry said. "What does a crime ring in Metropolis have to do with me and Snart?â Leonard leaned forward across the table as far as the handcuffs would allow, and his lips curled up in a slow smirk. âDidnât the feds tell you?â he asked. âWeâre getting hitched.â
After a string of high profile art thefts rocks the East Coast, the FBI sends Leonard Snart undercover as a wealthy art collector to bring down the operation from the inside. At Lenâs request, a reluctant Barry Allen is conscripted to act as his handlerâand as far as the socialites of Metropolis are concerned, his husband.

"Gabrielle was a real turning point for me," Anne admitted. "I decided that the mother was not going to die again. She was going to escape. I was definitely thinking of my own mother and her death." To her thinking, Lestat demonstrated great maturity in offering the Dark Gift to his own mother. It meant he was treating her as an equal. Her friend Andy Brumer was incredulous. "Isn't that kind of bonding," he asked, "paid for with a loss of the self?" "When you have eternity," Anne replied, "you can work out anything, even an Oedipal complex." - Prism of the Night: A Biography of Anne Rice, by Katherine Ramsland

The Other from ASOIaF
the odyssey pretty fun movie actually and is not deserving of half the discourse itâs inspired but it is insane to see a movie where every womanâs actions are motivated by fear of or in response to rape and yet the act is never committed, threatened, or even alluded to by any of the male characters except the occasional denial of their intentions to do so. the movieâs big reveal is that the violation of a young woman during the fall of troy is the core point of trauma for odysseus and the tipping point that has led to the downfall of their entire civilization; the entire plot hinges upon this moment. but the movie cannot explicitly present this violation as rape (what it is obviously standing in for, especially within the context of the myth of the trojan women) and instead âsoftensâ it to murder. and why is this? whatâs the purpose of not just saying what it is and what this part of the story is about? itâs so obvious to the audience, so intrinsic to the fabric of the legend, that at a point its absence overwhelms its presence. rape exists in nolanâs odyssey, itâs a fundamental part of the story and a textual lived reality for all of the women but it can never be made explicit that the men themselves -even the most heinous- are committing it. itâs truly bizarre. he canât tell the story without rape but is too offended and overwhelmed by it to know how to sensitively keep it in.
