It took every modicum of restraint that Dito possessed not to outright erupt into laughter at the mere suggestion that Five, of all people, could harbor anything close to selflessness or empathy. No, she was only telling him what she thought he wanted to hear. So he’d remain complacent and continue providing for her – both physically and not.

He sounded tired, already, tone ribboned in a sort of permanent drowse as he spoke. Their grand reunion had only just taken place, yet all he wanted to do was find his way into the biggest, softest bed ( alone, mind you ) and sleep his duties and obligations as a Disciple away.

With his select choice of words, her intentions swung around in the complete opposite direction. Not that it really mattered, because he shot her down. Not that she was complaining, oh no. She happily took this new idea he unknowingly pitched in a heartbeat. It was brilliant.

You didn’t respond as quickly as someone else might have. First, you finished off your squirrel–and picked your jagged teeth with the more pointy end of the stick. It was tossed aside soon after.

“–Never cared for leavin’ impressions on people,” you said. “I don’t normally get folk wanderin’ around so deep in t’e forest eit’er. So, aye. Ya lookin’ for somet’in’?”

Hmph... If she wasn’t bothered by that display, it would have felt more like a disappointment to her. With the way things turned out, she found herself seeing it as less of a loss. It was a bummer, but she was moving on - with a shrug of the shoulders. 

“Not particularly. I did however stumble upon you. For whatever reason. Maybe you’re just the person I need who can point me in the right direction. You see, I’m looking for any kind of food that is like no other. It has to be extraordinary, and nothing less.” 

You watched the woman silently as you took a rather large bite out of the cooked squirrel on a stick that was your meal. “–Ain’t gonna find t’at ‘ere,” was what you said–in between chewing.

Feeling teased, she pouted but at least held the manners to look away. Still, that was just outright...obnoxious. “You know how to leave a lasting impression, don’t you?” 

“–Yeah? And I want you to get the fuck away from me. Go find some food elsewhere, less y’ want me to punch you outta here so hard that your funbags’ll hit you in the fuckin’ face.”

“Did somebody just call for a fun time?” She only picks one word to focus on, and the rest? Ignored, entirely. “Go on.” 

   “You’ll have to figure it out by yourself, cause I’m not going to give you hints just so you can hit on me.”

“Fair enough.” She intended on figuring something enough anyway. More fun that way. “But...there has been something that’s been bothering me. Where are your pants?” 

   “You’re welcome to try but there’s no promises on what’ll come of it.”

“Then, I shall. So...I take it you’re not so kind to just drop a hint or two of things that might win you over, are you?” 

   “You’d have to try harder than that to get me to do anything with you.”
