Now this is badly edited, but I did what I could, but the noses for the new ATLA movie have been bothering me immensely. All the noses look so bleh. I know the art style in general is very different from the series, but the noses are just SOOOOO different. I feel like this would have made a ton more sense and makes the character animation feel more in line with the original series. Had to see what it would look like for Aang and Katara at least.

I think the Avatar Aang movie could have been improved by making it part of a series of movies that each focused on a member of the gaang going on a quest related to them.
Like Zuko has to get the gaang together to quash a sect of fire nation supremacists who think the 100 year war was justified.
Katara has to travel to the North Pole on a diplomatic mission and something goes wrong with the spirit world.
Why Toph had to start the republic city police force (although I still think it’s crazy she became a cop so maybe not that).
Sokka could have delt with non-bender relations in a better way instead of it being a side plot in a movie that was really about the airbender stuff.
Suki and Ty Lee and the Kyoshi warriors dealing with a threat that can only be handled by chi blocking and subterfuge. (I’m not a writer and it’s 8am some one better than me can probably flesh these thoughts out more)
This would make some of the issues with the non-Aang characters not having any real character or development since we’d know they were getting their own story and would mirror the original show where there were episodes that focused on each non-Aang character.
I have thoughts about the Avatar Aang movie.
Why does Aang never use his staff/glider except for in one moment when he is leaving Republic City? It seems like it would have been very helpful for things like accidentally falling off a mountain or trying to breakup tornados.
Why does everyone have a weird line next to their nose? What is it supposed to be anatomically? Neither noses nor cheeks work like that.
Why does Zulu not have a crew for his airship? The Firelord really doesn’t bring one person that isn’t his childhood friend to help man a warship?
Did Aang feel nerfed until the very end? I know he’s a pacifist but I feel like 12 year old Aang could have incapacitated the Denied pretty handily.
Speaking of the Denied, how could they all instantly incorporate air bending seamlessly into their weapon based fighting styles with zero practice?
And finally how are they not going to say the name Suki once then show her eating ice cream (I think?) and with the rest of the gaang in a credits card?
Also no Mai, Azula or Ty Lee mention? Ty Lee might have been one of the Kyoshi warriors but I’m not sure.
Disclaimer but I did enjoy the movie I just watched it twice today because I watched on plane WiFi and it was blurry as hell so I had to watch it again on a real tv. (Delta flights come with 24 hours of free Paramount plus apparently)

My partner just woke up and had the following conversation with me:
Them: did they find enough holy water?
Me: what? (Kinda thinking they are talking about the tv show I had on)
Them: the holy water for the babies
Me: what are you talking about?
Them: did they baptize the babies?
Me: what babies?
Them: the babies in the foster care system
Me: I don’t know what you are talking about. Are you ok?
Then: aren’t there babies in foster care?
Me: yes there are but I don’t know why you are asking about them being baptized
Them: what’s GDB mean?
Me: what are you talking about?
Them: what country is GDB in the World Cup?
Me: I don’t know. Are you sure you’re ok
Them: didn’t the baptize babies at the US game today
Me: I don’t know. Why would they baptize foster care babies at a soccer game?
Them: what do they do when they tie?
Me: I don’t know a shoot off?
Them: didn’t they sprinkle water on the babies?
This went on for a while. I was both laughing and genuinely afraid they had had a stroke of something. I think they are fine.
