i came, i saw, i loved

‘ you know me, potter. i always love a good challenge. ’ she let a smile spread on her lips. ‘ alright, then. you have one last year to surprise me. ’

Annabeth was staring at this bloody book for ages. She wasn’t reading it, just staring its inked pages and honestly she wasn’t even sure what this book was even about. Though despite her strong denial of reading the book, she didn’t want to return back to her dorms. For some reason she felt calm in the solitude of the library. Suddenly, a hand closed the book that was in front of her and as she turned her head she saw someone staring down at her with their eyebrows raised and a faint smile on their lips, “Hey, I was reading that!” she protested in a non threatening way.

‘ ann, my dearest- ’ emmeline begun, a smile on her lips. ‘ we’ve been here for only few hours. you have plenty of months ahead of you, you’ll surely find some other time to read the bloody book. ’ she took the book off the girl’s hand. ‘ let’s hang out by the lake. or maybe find that cute guy you spotted on the train. ’ she proposed, wiggling her eyebrows.

“i’d like to think we weren’t, but something tells me that we probably were.” the brunette gave her shoulders a small shrug. “although, i know we weren’t nearly as bad as they are now. have you noticed that they get progressively worse as the years go on or is that just me ?”

‘ might be the price we have to pay for evolving as a species. ’ emmeline joked, grabbing an apple she found ner her. ‘ i mean we did do some stupid things, but still- ’

‘ you do? ’ emmeline looked surprised. ‘ who was it, then? ’

‘ plain old dead isn’t as satisfying. ’ emmeline teased, raising one eyebrow. ‘ well, last i checked, we kicked your arse this year, didn’t we? and we could’ve played better. ’

‘ next time i get my hand on a bludger, you’re bloody dead, potter. ’ emmeline warned, rather jokingly as she didn’t really mind the hit. ‘ keep your eyes open on the next ravenclaw versus gryffindor. ’

“it seems like the first years continue to multiply more and more each day, i swear. it’s like they’re popping out of nowhere.”

‘ nah, i think it’s because of the older ones becoming less each day. i barely see any seventh years outside the library. ’

‘ you know what’s funny? people making fun of it by kissing their apples while i’m passing by them. i mean, who’s snogging an inanimate object now? ’

“snogging bludgers ? what kind of rumor is that ? the least they could’ve done is thought of something a little more believable.” a laugh bubbled past marlene’s lips at the thought as she made herself comfortable in a chair adjacent to the girl.

‘ some people are stupid enough to believe that, trust me. ’ she let a sigh escape her lips. ‘ especially the youngsters. were we that ignorant back in third year? ’
